I was replacing the tires on this "New to me" 1994  Cycle Mate trailer when I noticed the frame was broken on one side and cracked on the other side, both just at the back edge of the axle mount.  I had a fabricator friend make &  install a gusset on each side to prevent future cracks. If you pull a trailer behind your ride you should check the frame occasionally for problems like this.

When the torquin came out I always woundered if that was going to be the weak spot. My Cycle Mate has the leaf spring. So far the only thing that has broken was the left rear corner of the box. Buddy had used the trailer to pull on his vacation and was rear ended. Bent the bumper, crushed the corner of the box and crushed the turn light that was on the bumper. He bought a new box and bumper and light. Still have that trailer. If the remember is correct it a 1982 or 1984.
