Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Have a 2012 Sierra Z-71 that will need new shocks. Stock shocks are the Ranchos. Truck is lifted but more like the front is leveled out. With tires and such its prob 3"-4" taller then a stock truck. I replaced the rears with new ranchos this spring as one of the Tuff Country shocks were leaking. It rides a little ruff but its expected with a Z-71. I think the tuff countrys were smoother. Wondering what brands are good. Ranch, Monroe, Tuff Country, etc. Would like smoother tho. I don't get out in the fields as much anymore. Fronts will have to be the ''quick lift' type. Also is there a big diff on the diameter of them? Mine are 2"ish large ones.

I pit the bilstein 5100 series on the front of my old tundra. Had great results. These are a leveling shock that you can set the height you want. I think it has 5 settings and I put mine on the 3rd and it leveled the truck perfectly. I'll be using them again on my new tundra when it is time for new ones.

I got to give it to Bilstein they make probably the best shock on the market. Put them on my GMC Sierra and they are great. It had an issue that in a turn with a bump it would slide to the side but after the Bilsteins it stays put and is tracs very well every on bumpy roads. I had tried the Monroes first and took them off and returned them since they were horrible. It also does not jar you to death either  like some shocks do that you put on to gain control. I also put them on a Ford 250 van and it did great. They are usually pretty pricey but they are worth it. I dont think that there is one car that I have put Bilstiens on that the ride was not better.
