Dare I say the words.

OK I'll suck it up and reveal.

I drove. Yep I drove.

At the ice wall it was 19F with about a 30mph wind. It was so cold that it hurt my teeth.

I hope it's a tad warmer next weekend. I'll ride the bike and get some photos.

The wall is in the shade all winter so it takes quite a well for it to melt away.

My " Joe " time ends today I'll be rollin' out around 3:00 for Clarksville , Tennessee. Total waste of two weeks vacation gone because of this bitter cold spell. They claim 60 degree's here on Thursday and getting cold again by next weekend. My next " Joe " time will be June for InZane. ... Bring On Spring.

Your picture in the post is the best of the ones in the web site, IMHO.

The contrast of the Black Valk against the white ice is cool.

We have those ice walls all around New England highways every year.

Some have taken to using them for practicing ice climbing.

There was more gravel and road salt than when i drove to the ice wall.

The road salt was very coarse and green. Google tells me it is magnesium chloride which melts ice at temps below 15F.

Bike got a good wash and wax this morning.

Quite a few other bikes out who seemed to have no worries about the road salt / gravel even though I could see a plume of dust coming from their rear tires as they overtook me.

I was quite happy puttering along for a change. Some of the shaded areas had too much crap on the surface for any spirited riding - IMHO.

Ha, no kidding!  I didn't expand the pics, so I didn't see them.
