Well, I thought I didn't want one until I saw a couple in person at the DRU this past year. That changed my mind.
So yesterday I made a 7 hour drive and bought a new 2016 F6B Deluxe in Matte Silver. She will wait at the dealership until the weather breaks on a day the wife and I are both off work, then we'll bring her home. In the mean time I'm studying the manual and trying to learn all I can about the intercom system and other interesting bits while the dealer installs some farkles for me. The 2016 Deluxe includes electronic cruise control, heated grips, passenger back rest, center stand and self-canceling turn-signals which supposedly work pretty well. The Matte Silver means my days of waxing a motorcycle are over with the exception of the wind shield. The dealer had put a larger tinted shield on it before I bought it. I had him add the taller screen with vent and I'll take the tinted one with me for warm weather use when I bring her home.
Thought hard about the new wing and I do really like it, just not enough to spend that much money on it. And, I'll admit, the advertised "aluminum cylinder liners" on the new wing spooked me somewhat. I also thought this would be the time to get a deal on the remaining old style 1800's and it was.
So far it looks like I can't tie my Zumo or phone into the hardwired intercom system. If anyone knows differently please advise. I've wondered if I could add a "dongle" to the hardwired system to tie in bluetooth devices? As much as I like the Zumo I think google maps on a smart phone works as well or better for GPS duties.
