Interesting.  They already had medical MJ.

All this new law does is decriminalize small possession (1 oz, couple plants) from any penalty (whether or not you have a script for it).  Which I like.  

Saying VT has legalized pot is not exactly accurate (and fake news).  If you have more than an oz, it is no longer legal (don't know the penalties).

There is not (yet) recreational MJ (commercial sales to the public).

Didn't California already do that and met with some really interesting results since Federal law supersedes state law and the government sent in agents and arrested and shut down anyone selling it.

Just answered my own question it was the state legislature that legalized it in this case not a vote from the people.

What is unique that plants are allowed and flowers. The government in their drug crackdown had an unfair calculation for plants if you were caught with them and even the seeds were calculated with added time as appropriate.  Many got some real time for having plants. Many say that the oil does wonders at healing even cancer I wonder if restrictions on this are a bit easier also.
