Ever since upgrading to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Quick wireless charging and waterproof) I'd been searching for a weather proof wireless charging option for the phone on the Valk. I even wrote to RAM Mounts asking if they had any solutions, and was told that no, they don't.

So I started thinking.

Scary, I know.

That's when I found this device on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078MGY2S1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

High speed wireless charging, ultra thin, and weather proof. Even comes with a sticky pad to mount it.

Got one, mounted it to my existing RAM mount on the Valk, plugged it into my existing high-speed charging USB outlet, and wham, my Valkyrie navigation and music (And other things) is now weather proof, wireless (I don't have to futz with the cable to plug it in every time I get on or off the bike!)

Took it for a test ride today and so far, it works awesome!

(I'd post a pic of the phone mounted on the mount with the wireless charging puck in place, but it's hard to take a pic of the phone that you use to take the pics, and I'm too lazy to get my real camera out of the safe to take the pic. Wink )

Hope this might help someone, I'm happy I found this combination at least!

Sounds cool. But I really hate extra gismos attached to the handlebars. So, I just have a couple 12v outlets under the seat.  If I need to charge my phone on the move I plug it in and leave it under the seat until the next gas stop.  If it rains no worries it never gets wet under the seat.

The only problem I have with that is my fear that if and when you hit a bump will the phone go flying?. Is there a way to secure it on the charger?. Let us know what you think about it after using it for a while. Is it secure on rough roads? Etc. thanks for the possibilities of easy charging.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The charging puck is an addition to a RAM Mount X-Grip phone mount that I've been using for a few years.

The RAM mount holds the phone in place, the charging puck sticks to the RAM mount and sits between the phone and the mount.

Without the wireless charging I've been using the RAM Mount for several years and about 15,000 miles (I know, embarrassing that I've only had that many miles in "several years." =\ ) and it's held the phone fine through high speed runs, gravel roads, torrential downpours, etc with no issues whatsoever.
