I just cited these, there are others, equally as silly.

Back in the last millenium, as a young lad of 16, my family visited 3 or 4 days in London

They have (had?) a pretty neat custom in Hyde Park on Sunday morning

ANyone and everyone could stand on a soap box and say anything about anything or anyone

It was interesting even if I couldnt understand much, inasmuch as we are divided by a common language lol

So I dont give a rats patootie if someone wants to give their version of events after I turn off my tv tonite

But I have a long memory and will not forget who says what in the future when they come around looking for money or votes

The Dems said 800,000.  Trump knows that with chain migration that could easily triple, so he offers them 1.8 million.  And now Pelosi, et al, are calling him a white supremist.

There will be 5 "official" responses to tonight SOTU address.  Bernie as also entered the ring. 

I will watch Maxine's response.  The comedic value should be worth it.  But I do have one question.......  Will she be getting a copy of the speech beforehand?  This is important.  If so, her people have time to respond point by point.  If she has to respond after hearing it for the first time with the rest of us, she'll have to think on her feet and that should be good.

I think for so many years I have seen presidents get in with promises and its like the health care bill we have to elect them to see what they are really about. Only to have it turn into a travesty like the health care bill, so far Trump has been true to his word. Its not only a pleasant surprise but a welcome relief from near destruction that previous admins had brought the USA to. To hear the chants of USA, USA, USA from anyone that was not a democrats in the chamber was just a great moment. To inspire so many was truly uplifting to hear.

He often looks too imperious, his delivery is only occasionally great or natural, he should never gesture for people to stand (which is all stagecraft), but he is certainly sincere and how in the world can you dispute his simple and straightforward points, one after the other?

The 1.8 million paths to citizenship may indeed be too high, but I had no idea it was a 12 year program (that presumably you can be kicked out of if you fail the requirements), and to get the wall, and abolish (expanded) chain and lottery immigration, it may be worth it.  A compromise always had to happen.

The Pelosi creature (from the black lagoon) is a parody of herself.  Though (grudgingly) to her credit, she apparently went around to her colleagues and asked them not to act up or disrupt.

Noticed Booker actually looked mad when the camera hit him a couple times, what's wrong with people when something good takes place please take note and give credit where and when credit is due.                  Some of "them" looked like they were passing freshly crushed gravel. My Brother My S I L and I did something we collectively had not done in years. We watched President Trumps speech in it's entirety. Happy to state here FINALLY that I'm proud to say something I have NOT said since President Reagan-MY PRESIDENT. President Trump said NOTHING I disagree with. And put ms13 north korea and others including non producing Federal Employees on notice. And going to defund countries that wish us-U S of A-harm. And a Clear and Distinct shot across the bow of the notferlongs. And as soon as he was done with his SOTU speech we went to something other than the overpaid talking heads-I Heard the Man I KNOW what he said. I do NOT need someone telling me what he meant when I already listened to what he said. RIDE SAFE.

John, I was watching that too.  Of course the minority party at state of the union addresses often doesn't clap much and does the stone face.  And for some of his more neutral points, like supporting veterans, I saw some to maybe even half gently clapping briefly a few times.  But for any pivotal part of his platform and most of the speech, they weren't just stone faced, a number of them were trying to put on a war face.  

And then the black caucus did the war face for the point that black unemployment was at it's lowest in recorded history.  Not even a glimmer of appreciation or recognition of that significant fact.  Plenty of other blacks in the audience were clapping along with everyone else.  Pelosi, who got more camera than any of them was continually rolling her tongue around her closed mouth (like she was fixing to punch someone).  

My takeaway is that the Ds acted in perfect harmony with the full court press the mainstream media has been putting on Trump all year.  And, thinking that their voter base is in complete agreement with that hate, felt the need to play to that voter base.

I don't know how many stayed away in boycott, maybe the largest number ever.  I suppose at every state of the union, there are always more present in support of that particular president than in the other party.  My takeaway on that is, it's a mistake.  Every time the camera panned across the whole chamber (often), it looked nowhere near 50/50 in approval and disapproval, but more like 3/4 for and 1/4 against (or less).  Just a small group of folks on one side and about halfway up looking lost and forlorn, and small.  I like that they looked that way to the public on national television.  Much better than nearly half the chamber doing the war face every time the camera panned the audience.

I had forgotten just how many times people stand and sit during these things.  Even with a decent set of knees, that has got to get old in a hurry.  The people that should boycott are people with bad knees.

Speaking of veterans, I always found it amusing on active duty.  We'd talk politics like anyone else, but we would all laugh that no politician in history from any party ever campaigned on the lets screw the veterans platform.  (many screwed us, but it was always about budget, not veterans, so they said)

Don't Know about hearding cats.  Pelosi looked like she drank the go fast juice for a colonoscopy and it was starting to kick in.  Old Bernie looked like he was in similar pain.  These people are in agony that their dirty little kingdom has fallen.

Trump, like him or not, did put together a brilliant plan that did not require help from the media which he correctly identified as a big part of our national ill.   He plays them now like the irrelevant jesters they are.

Polls say what the pollsters want them to say  Trump has a huge base and his base shows up to work and shows up to protect the country.  I now stand with him without hesitation as he has proven to be of his word and true to his message.

Bonnie, like myself, was disgusted by the democrats reactions to almost the entire speech, especially the parts where the black and hispanic causus showed no favorable reaction to unemployment.
These legislators don't care to show they are happy their constituents are working and not on the dole.  But of course a slave master does not want his slave free and a slave master can be (and historically was often) the same color as his slave.  All the better to be able to ply their trade.  It does seem clear that the democrats really need the welfare state to have a chance in national elections.
Disgraceful, we should be striving for  " work states" and also I applaud any effort to encourage those who have served their time to return to productive society and to help those slave to opioids to return to a real life.
I will poll my clients this week to see their reactions to the speech. I suspect those who work, including my many police and hospital worker clients will have loved it across the board

As I was watching the Dems in their reactions, what I found interesting is some knew they should clap and would have. It seems they had to show their disapproval of Trump since the house grinch would not like them to applaud although some did, but every time the majority stood up and clapped they looked around like lost kids at the applause.

 It furthered my dislike and negative opinion of Pelosi knowing that is more than likely where the marching orders came from. I'm sure there will be some on the Dem side that will be answering to rebukes this morning since they did in fact stand and applaud.  It made me upset to see the scowl on her face through the whole thing. Im sure that since the speech went well that the Dems were upset that all the events and negative speak they had prepared seemed somehow out of place and didn't get to masquerade around and stir the pot.

The other thing was when Trump was walking out, I loved all them trying to get to see him and congratulate him on the speech, he was also signing autographs and some were handing him anything they had to sign. One had a book another a brochure, pretty awesome.

I watched the whole speech and was impressed.  I've always thought that we should view the actions of a politicians, not his(her) words.

Trump is doing everything that he promised. His action, indeed, speak louder than his words.  H'e doing the right things imo.  There is no doubt, based on his actions, that he IS putting America First.

Contrast that with the Democrats who all march in lockstep and put their party first with its dishonest blabberings.
