Upstate NY, the heart of NY

« on: February 01, 2018, 07:53:49 AM »

Hello all, just had my membership approved and can't wait to get lots of helpful info from you Dragon Masters.

I picked up a 2003 Valkyrie standard last summer after wanting one for 20 years. My previous bike was the little sister of the Valk, the Honda Magna, I purchased it new before I got married with the intention of getting a Valkyrie when I got the Magna paid off. Needless to say, life happened, marriage, kids and homes, put the Valkyrie on the back burner. Last year in the spring I had a ATV accident and got me thinking it's time to live for today, because tomorrow is never promised, so I looked for and found a Valkyrie in my area. Have been addicted to this beast ever since.

I joined the forum and website in anticipation of InZane and plan to attend this year if even just for a couple days. I will be traveling with one of my best friends who also rides a Valkyrie and is not a forum member due to his lack of interweb knowledge, but is a lover of all things Valk.

Sorry for the long winded intro, I guess I should just say Hi, and I am happy to be here. Cheers!

A whole bunch of upstate NY is awesome, we went up to Unadilla once to see
the Motocross Des Nations... the time Ricky Johnson, Jeff Ward and Bob Hannah
whipped everybody else in the world. I think Ricky Johnson double whipped everyone  Smiley .

Very nice, mine was VFGoose over at the other place. I saw Pappy's handle in a different thread and sent him a message asking if he was the same Pappy as over there. Funny how small the interwebz make the world. Cheers!

Thank you sir. I don't usually make it to Americade, for years we did the Thunder in Old Forge ride the weekend before Americade, but sadly, OF doesn't want dirty bikers in their town, even though we spend tons of money at the bars and restaurants while there.

One event if you are interested that I have done every year since the beginning is the Clear Path for Veterans Ride the last weekend in September. Great ride for an even better cause, I will get more information as we get closer to the date.
