Well, not new, just something else to watch out for.

The comment "I turned into the parking lot and woke up in the hospital"  Shocked Shocked

I guess I can see how this could happen, but it is not a good idea to go around a corner blind not knowing what is there.

2014 in Acton, Indiana Deputy's death underscores dangers of potholes for motorcyclists

"Authorities do not believe speed or alcohol played a role."

And of course the mandatory: "He was not wearing a helmet, authorities said."

So many times I was presented with 4 choices

No sink holes here but come spring there will be plenty of pot holes to navigate, not to mention exploding concrete on the freeways in the summer.  Makes a guy want to stick to the gravel roads.

I find it's always helpful to never ride lead so that any lurking danger is revealed around a blind corner.

I guess you never know. This video was interesting to me, explaining how sinkholes can form with no visual clues on the surface.         https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-DVIQPqS8E

Now after watching the video I do wonder how the rider didn't see the hole.

I do think it's a shame the woman didn't make more of an attempt to stand close to the hole to warn others.

Absolutely!  The other "witness" was trying for 10 mins to get someone out there. uglystupid2  Just park your car in front of it or in the travel path 20 ft away.  Flashers are good.
