I guess I can see how this could happen, but it is not a good idea to go around a corner blind not knowing what is there.

No sink holes here but come spring there will be plenty of pot holes to navigate, not to mention exploding concrete on the freeways in the summer. Makes a guy want to stick to the gravel roads.

I find it's always helpful to never ride lead so that any lurking danger is revealed around a blind corner.

Now after watching the video I do wonder how the rider didn't see the hole.

I do think it's a shame the woman didn't make more of an attempt to stand close to the hole to warn others.

Absolutely! The other "witness" was trying for 10 mins to get someone out there.
Just park your car in front of it or in the travel path 20 ft away. Flashers are good.
