I did want to stay out of this discussion but ...

Logan Act - "... with foreign governments having a dispute with the United States."  The act was adopted to make it illegal for an other than  official U.S. representative to negotiate with a foreign government at conflict with the U.S. (war?).  It does not mean that any U.S. citizen simply cannot talk with members of another government.

Fortunately the U.S. was not involved in declared or undeclared war with Russia.  I say fortunately because otherwise the Clintons would be in really deep trouble.

It's hard for a logical person to watch a discussion between folks that have abandoned reason and are driven simply by their commitment to hate.  That applies to some folks at both ends of the political spectrum.

The term “in conflict” could easily apply to situations in Syria and Ukraine.

Degree of ease is largely determined by degree of desire.  Again it is negotiation over the conflict not simply discussion, even if the discussion enlisted assistance in getting the discusser's candidate elected.  Good thing because otherwise Hillary Clinton's representatives would have been charged with felonies.

But it doesn't matter because it didn't take place.

Would not a discussion of having the Russians not do anything in regards to the sanctions imposed on them by the Obama administration he considered a negotiation ?

Since the memo came out and proved that the gathering of evidence is compromised and under law the if the evidence is compromised then the case against Trump is compromised on this alone the special counsel against Trump should be thrown out.

This is the conspirators and what the swamp looks like

It then emerged that Strzok played a key role in the bureau’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server. CNN reported that Strzok changed former FBI Director James Comey’s “earlier draft language describing Clinton’s actions as ‘grossly negligent’ to ‘extremely careless,'” in Comey’s statement about the FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s emails. Grossly negligent is a phrase with legal significance as that is the standard needed to prove criminality.

It is the first time Strzok has been seen since the revelation that he and Lisa Page, a senior FBI lawyer, exchanged 10,000 texts in which they called Trump an 'idiot' whose election was 'f***ing terrifying'. Both are married and in an affair.

Peter Strzok Changed the Comey Language from ‘Grossly Negligent’ @@ This change in language changed the it from a chargeable offense to  carelessness.

Nellie Ohr, the wife of disgraced DOJ official Bruce Ohr, was employed at Fusion GPS last year. Her term of employment overlapped with the period when the Trump dossier was being compiled

It was in Jan. of 2018 after Buzzfeed released the Dossier that had circulated for months at all media outlets that refused to publish the Dossier because they could not verify any of it and it just seem ridiculous.  I was listening an interview of either a current or former MI6 agent about Russian Dossiers.  He stated these are well known about all over Europe but not so much in the U.S.  They are used strictly as counter intelligence and are 100 percent just made up to muddy up waters and are always salacious in manner to the point of absurd.  The agent was actually laughing how anyone could take one serious.  They make them on just about any one important in Europe.  January of last year Comey told Trump the dossier was Salacious and not credible and  yet he presented this same dossier to the Fisa Court in late October in 2016 for their case to spy.  They used this dossier as main evidence as their case to spy was first turned down in the Fisa aplication in June of 2016.  Fisa applications have an approval rate of I believe over 99 percent, it is rare for them to be turned down and yet the original one was.

Watched Bill Maher the other night.  He had ad Donna Brazille on with no mention at all of her despicable antics and cheating to steal an election, so right there, the entire show was tainted.

However, they kept repeating the word "Hacked".  The Russians "Hacked" into our election.

So, supposedly, the charges against Trump (really accusations only) is that he colluded with the Russians who "hacked" into our election to make Trump president.

What does hacked mean?  To me, it means a computer system was broken into and the information within was taken or manipulated.  Did this happen?  I can't recall hearing that Russia "hacked" Michigan's (for example) computerized election system and changed votes from blue to red.  Have you?  Has anyone?  ONLY thing I've heard is,  they say Russia bought advertising on social media.  Memes.  THAT'S IT ?      F'ing Memes!

They also kept saying that it was the Russians who "hacked" into the Democrats systems to steal information, which Wiki unloaded to the public to make Hillary look bad, to help elect Trump.  Wiki, Assange, on the other hand, has stated numerous times, on many different new channels and in print, that he didn't get the files from Russia.  Say what you want about Assange, he hasn't been proven wrong yet.  And there's no proof to dispute him.  Just the Left's word that Wiki got it from Russia.  And we all know how good their word is...........

They did advertise with memes on social media.  Spent 100k.  Mrs C spent what 1.3 billion or more, anyway a huge amount  and Trump spent less than half that amount.  If 100k can change an election at a tiny fraction of 1 percent I would suggest to both parties to forego any future spending and campaigning,  instead stay at home and just invest in clever Russian memes.

The Russians attempted to hack many states voting systems. Luckily only 2 were mildly successful. I would think all of us would want to stop them.

The allegation is that the Russians subverted our election. And that somehow the Trump people were complicit in this.   (BTW, the US intelligence services have been in the business of subverting other countries elections for decades, maybe not so much lately, I do not know)

If you want to see who subverted our election, all you have to do is turn on your TV and watch almost any news network. There, the subversion of the election, and the continual ongoing subversion of Trump and his administration is patently plain for all to see.  The DNC also acted to subvert the election, and it now appears that people within the FBI and DOJ assisted that subversion by use of spurious evidence to the FISA court.

This Utube is not really about the alleged subversion of the US election, but I think it is representative of how the average Russian thinks about the issue.

I would want to stop anyone.  How do they know it's Russian?  Do they just assume so.  One statement states hackers unknown.  I would think a good many countries and organizations and individuals would attempt hacking for many reasons, especially North Korea and China.  North Korea is the worlds greatest counter fitters of major country currencies.

Ah.  You mean just like the right wing conspiracy theories that proclaim rampant election fraud, without any evidence?

No, can't be.

Nah, not really: the memo, that all the right wing wanted to proclaim as the silver bullet, is doing just the opposite - the right is getting biatchslapped over it and they can't handle it

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/posteverything/wp/2018/02/04/devin-nunes-tried-to-discredit-the-fbi-instead-he-proved-its-onto-something/?hpid=hp_no-name_opinion-card-f%3Ahomepage%2Fstory&utm_term=.238c32aaed5a

Almost everyone EXCEPT pro-right wing fundamentalists are reading through the bluff and carefully noting how the memo TRIES to rewrite the timing of events - even our foreign allies' media sees right through it.  For example,

What Dino has to say doesn't make to much sense, I will start by saying the FBI issued a threat to Trump and said he cannot win this and that they the FBI will win.

American Election Hacker Testifies
American computer programmer Clinton Eugene Curtis is seen in this video testifying under oath in front of the U.S. House Judiciary Members in Ohio.

Published on Nov 1, 2006

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzBI33kOiKc

We are not talking about voting machines really either.

Next since 2006 as the video shows above there has been problems with the voting machines that was known about so let me ask who as chief executive would know this, Obama of course and then why would he allow before the election this to go on? With also knowing the DNC was totally hacked and that Hillary's personal email server was totally hacked and that Hillary was the finances of the DNC. The mountain of evidence is not in favor of a quick explanation and the time line is consistent with the memo.

I dont know if you saw the story in another post but Schiff has some real problems that are more than this also.

Disinformation in intelligence is the only weapon that is available at this point to change the narrative.

BTW when Barry put sanctions on the Russians and expelled them it was not for hacking or anything like that in fact it almost caused a real gaffe in relations with the Russians at a critical time. Putin was laughing at Barry not Trump for the idea that the Russians would hack or change the outcome of the elections.

The left thought and tried to show so hard that Trump had a relationship with Russia till The U.S. military attacked a Syria-government airfield with 59 Tomahawk missiles which changed the outcome of these thoughts.

I believe Barry wanted to cause a problem  with the Russians and since Hillary, the state dept, Barry the FBI and all that would have to approve a deal with Russia knew of the selling of US Uranium to Russia and had to approve it why would it not be known that they were talking to Trump or anyone in the US about changing the outcome of the election? Come on really

Especially since the key man in the Russia deal is now indicted on criminal charges and facing a long prison term that was done under Trump.

The noose is getting closer to and this also means that the real question is after so much investigation by the state dept to approve a deal to sell 20% of our uranium to Russia and all the 3 letter agencies investigated it why was this not brought up before the Uranium deal went through? REALLY?

There’s an indictment in the FBI probe of the Uranium One scandal, in which the Obama administration cleared a business deal that gave a Russian company control of 20 percent of the US uranium industry.

A grand jury brought 11 counts of money laundering and wire fraud against Mark Lambert, the former head of a Maryland transportation company.

The federal investigation grew from charges that the Obama administration covered up an FBI probe of the uranium business — and thus allowed the Russian firm Tenex to buy a stake in Uranium One, a Canadian company that mines uranium in Wyoming and elsewhere.

There's tens of millions of dollars that were laundered by Russians into the Clinton operation that needs to be thoroughly investigated in order for the American people to rest assured that our uranium industry hasn't been compromised," said Fitton

In his Clinton Cash bestseller, Schweizer reported that nine foreign investors in the deal gave $145 million to Hillary and Bill Clinton’s personal charity, the Clinton Foundation. Also around that time, Bill Clinton was paid $500,000 for a speech in Moscow, raising serious questions about backdoor “pay-to-play” payoffs.

So with all this going on and some big money going to Hillary and her foundation and Obama had to approve the deal that would have allowed them access to Russians that would have an interest in the election and NOTHING was said, REALLY?

Trumps connections as a private citizen has nothing as deep as this with the Russians.

Another Washington Post link.  Please, in the future, just get right to it and post The National Enquirer link.  It's more entertaining and more truthful.  They also have to walk back less stories.

Why do you care how the US looks to the rest of the world, as long as they fall instep and start picking up their portion of the bill?  If anything, our last administration cemented the beliefs that the US can be walked on, will foot the bill for everyone, are terrible negotiators, take blame for everything, and bow down to foreign leaders.

Today, the European nations are finally, beginning to pay their fair share and, N. Korea has been quiet for months and isn't pushing Trump any further, and trade between nations is leveling.  To me, all of that is much more important than some Canadian story, reporting about a british story, about Canadians thinking we should be embarrassed.  (BTW, PHUCK Canada and England, and Germany and France.  If they're so great, why do their citizens move here in numbers that dwarf the other way around???)

How come you weren't ashamed or embarrassed when we were the world's fool, bank, lacky, for over 8 years?

 cooldude

At the time of the election who was President? Obama a Democrat.

On election day who was President?

On election day what was the difference in the POPULAR vote? Oh yes it fell to the Democrat.

From election day to Trumps inauguration who was President?

From election day to Trumps inauguration who was in overall charge of the FBI?

Yet despite all this somehow the child like mantra "collusion, collusion, collusion" is in the forefront.

I'll repeat what I've posted before.

The dem/lib/progs said over and over that Trump didn't want to become President. Said it in various ways from running to self promote to running to help bolster his business empire.

Yet for some reason he "colluded" with the Ruskies to achieve what he didn't want to???

Really? You so easily forget the way the European theater and elsewhere made fun of us during obama's reign. Cartoons from all over the world were rampant with ridicule of the U.S., making fun of us and how obama handled/mishandled things. Trump has done anything but humiliate the U.S. in the face of the rest of the world. The recent Davos gathering showed the world where Trump was coming from, both politically and economically. Overall, the attendees were pleased and receptive to his stance. It indicated the U.S. is back and doing business as in the past without the restrictions and millstones hanging around the necks of business as in the past admin. There's nothing wrong with "America first" and it was announced on an international platform.

Shhhhh, we don't want to hear the truth. If I say the British are laughing at us enough times it starts to become true.

And we all know how good their word is...........

cant believe you were actually able to watch Maher. The sight of the man makes me physically ill. If I ever met him personally I would end up in jail for assault for sure.

There is a second memo out, not the one on Friday, that spells it out that it was Hillary that bought and paid for the dossier. This is breaking fast.

There is also a Democrat memo on President Trump's desk waiting to see if he'll release it or not.

Even though I'm sure it's full of so much spin you could do your laundry in it, I'll be severely disappointed in President Trump if he doesn't allow the Democrats to have their say.

I have a system.  I never watch the opening Trump, Gop, bash "joke" fest.  That 8 minutes or so is just to warm up the crowd to applaud and hoot when he makes fun of the president.  I selectively watch the one on one interview.  If it is a hollywood or entertainer or something like that, nope.  I'll watch the "journalists" and "scientists", etc.  I then watch the next segment to see how a group of them can distort items of information to form conclusions.  And they ALWAYS show that they are hypocrites.  The hypocrisy I see is over the top.

This week's biggest biggest example of  hypocrisy.......  Trump Junior takes a meeting arranged by an entertainment person in Europe with a Russian lawyer to obtain Opposition Research, and we heard cries of treason and collusion.  The DNC spends money, laundered through a law firm, who paid a British spy to work with Russians to compile a "Salacious and Unverified" report, also called Opposition Research, however, a biased FBI leader used the salacious and unverified report to obtain permission from the court to spy on a US citizen and presidential candidate.

And STILL, Trump colluded with Russia and isn't their president.  Hillary should be president, but the public is too stupid to know what they need.

And then it's over.  But at least I see who I can believe and who are the hypocrites.

And also to show that hypocrisy means nothing to them, they bring on Donna Brazille as a panelist.

This person, while working for a "news" network that was hosting the next Presidential debate, gave the questions that would be used during the debate to Mrs. Clinton, prior to the debate.  And as a reward, after the crap hit the fan at the DNC and they had to get rid of Deceitful Debbie, they gave Dishonest Donn the big office over there.

And now Dishonest Donna gets to be on TV and bash the president.

It's a good thing I have never seen Maher or Samantha Bee walking on the street when driving my car, otherwise, I'm pretty sure I would have an irresistible impulse.  Lots of people push my button, but those two are at the top of the list, and in their own category.

Sir, you claim this was just an accident, but it appears you ran over them several times.   police

Sorry, I was just changing the radio channel and not paying close enough attention.   Roll Eyes

I'm sure the Democrat memo will just be a bunch of whining and crying about how untruthful the Original one is. First they say There was nothing of importance in it, then they say it is a matter of national security, now they made up their own memo after seeing the original to twist it their way.  cooldude Good job Democrats.

Most likely, actually.  But considering how whiny and crybaby the little snowflakes that make up the modern neo-conservative movement are, spearheaded mostly by self-entitled Baby Boomers, it wouldn't be the first (nor the best) crybaby political antics we've seen in just this [short] year.

I'm waiting for all it to pass, it will make some fascinating reading in history books during my (eventual) retirement.
