there are am sure a few dozen street legal cycles out there that I would consider too much for some of us including myself not having a rocket attached to them.

I can relate to cookiedough. I have a ZX14 Concours. I call it my "stupid fast" bike. Once I shifted into third on an entrance ramp at 100 mph. That's right; redlined in 2nd was a 100 mph.  Oh; I'll be 70 next week.

It was largely Flegl who created the Porsche 917-30, whose 1100 horsepower, the SCCA bitched, was killing the Can-Am series.
Mark Donohue disagreed. “We’re far from having too much horsepower,” he asserted. “My definition of too much horsepower is when all four wheels are spinning in every gear.”

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower.
Mark Donohue

I saw Mark run many a Can-Am race..we had a family friend .. Leonard Janke run the Can Am Series for years  as a back marker-he had a GM dealership in NE Nebraska..he raced all the greats in from the 60's thru the '80's...I saw them all..the attrition was horrible..I had a sportbike in the mid-late 80's in the ..the attrition was just as bad

Friend of mine built a 94 Mazda RX7 for a guy that had plenty of money. The car must have been pushing around 1000 hp, you could hit the gas in any gear and spin the tires.

So the new owner takes delivery and was anxious to try the car. He takes it out on the highway doing about 60 hits the gas and spins the tires and almost put the car sideways. He drove the car home put it in the garage and didn't take it out again. I guess it was to much in that case.  Grin

I worked for an aftermarket Mustang parts place and we had some crazy cars in the parking lot on occasion.
1987 Mustang with 632 Pat Musi BBC probably 1000 hp with crazy nitrous running low 8's in the 1/4...license plates and full interior
mi 90's Honda 575 hp on pump gas and 600+ on race gas
2006 ZR1 Corvette with about 850 hp and then that guy sold the Vette and got a Nissan GT-R putting over a 1000hp
I would say I am severely limited by money LOL

That was funny.  (and a great tune for the clip)  cooldude

I like fast cars (and bikes).

I don't want to go to a track (and do circles), and the cops just have no sense of humor about 20 over, let alone 200 over.

Maybe if I lived out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere West were the rocketman was driving.

At least he had the forethought to pick a straight road.

Your father's lost his mind again.   2funny

Had a friend in AZ high country while I was there in the late 60's.  He had a Firebird that had been slightly modified.   We were playing with a new Mustang one night, we were both going in excess of 100 mph.   He finally had had enough, drops into 3 gear and floors it.  We were doing well over 160 mph when we left him sitting in dust.  Looking back on it, I wonder why we didn't die that night.  Two lane road, High country with forest rats all around, not to mention not the most highly maintained road in the county.
