I was looking thru my wifes phone for some pics of our recent ride to San Francisco. And I came across these from last summer. We had went back to Alaska to visit family and helped a little with their commercial fishing site.

My nephew and I after a hard day.
Loading the fish for transport.
My grandson and my nieces daughter.

Kids w/o a phone in their hands, awesome  cooldude

I got a 18 year old nephew, that if I told him we were going to clean the nets and load the fish, he'd run and hide in his "safe spot" uglystupid2

Grin nice shirt. These are predominately sockeyes (reds), with an occasional King and Humpy mixed in. They have Set Net sites on the Cook Inlet. Theirs are just a mile or so down from the Kenai River.

Ahhhh... the memories! Glad it all worked out for y'all...

Thanks Bruce. The vacation was made even better with a few brews tossed back with a good friend.  cooldude

To their credit the kids enjoy it a lot. It helps that they get to spend most of their time down there riding 4 wheelers on the beach and slinging mud and fish slime at each other. But when it's time to unload fish they jump right in.  cooldude

Great pics Rob, thanks for posting.

I set my wifi router to only allow my kids wifi certain hours of the day.  On Saturday a week or two ago, my 13-yr-old son was bored, so he decided to go out and shovel walks.  He ended up doing nine houses, not just the three he gets paid to do.

Rob,

I think of that unlikely event often... and a grin always comes to my face! The ride itself, the yurt, the meet-up, the time spent jawing and laughing... For this Florida boy, that was some pretty heady stuff: being in Alaska, finding y'all, staying in that exotic tent... and having a great conversation with a wonderful couple over a couple of beverages... Dang! Life sure can be grand!!! I'm really glad you and Brenda found me and made that meet-up possible... It's one of those 'treasure memories' that will stay with me from here on out!!!   cooldude

Same here Bruce  cooldude I do feel kind of bad setting you up in that hurt though. I was just afraid some of my Alaskan brethren was going to soak a cheechako for a $300 motel. I should have realized a seasoned traveler as yourself has “been to the rodeo” before.  cooldude
