Have to rant get off my chest:

I called installer for garage door install at 12:30 today to confirm Friday install as we discussed a few days ago and she said will be there tomorrow being Friday.  I was fine with that and then they leave me a message on cell phone at 3 p.m. indicating a commercial job is falling behind and wants to reschedule it for next week - IDIOTS!

I called body shop for repair being done today for pickup on deer collision to confirm at 12:35  that my 2017 truck will be done by 5 p.m..  Guy said is finishing it up today and going to wash/detail it should be done by 3 p.m..  Sometime after 3 p.m. the body shop calls and leaves me a message on cell phone that their garage door came down on the roof AFTER detailing it and put 5 dents in the roof and some light scratches since am sure some IDIOT pushed a button not seeing my truck in the doorway in the detail shop.  IDIOTS!  I drive over there ASAP before closing today to access damage to roof and not horrible but paintless dent repair should work having to drop the headliner inside of which I will once again inspect to make sure that is not ripped or stained and fits PERFECT and lo and behold I inspect the deer collision repair and find that the front passenger quarter panel does not line up sticking out about 3/8" past the passenger front door - IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can be sure I let them know about it and if not flush in the gap between door and front quarter panel,  NOT a dime will be paid to them for such shitty work.  IDIOTS!

I got home and got in mail a bill for my mom's DISH network which I cancelled 2 weeks ago with the Dish guy assuring me NO early termination fee applies since mom has not lived at home since end of November now living in assisted living home.  ONE F'ing hour afterwards on phone and 3 transfers to 3 different IDIOTS I have to now send them proof of NOT living at home in assisted living home in order to cancel the 231.00 early termination fee - IDIOTS!

I should have just stayed HOME today and not got the mail nor answered my cell phone.   uglystupid2 :tickedoff:IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I deal with enough IDIOTS at work daily did not need 3 more today.  tickedoff

I am just glad,  well not as pissed off,  that the garage door that fell down on the roof when some IDIOT pushed the close button in the detail shop that the damage was not super severe only 5 baseball sized indents at most 1/8th inch deep in the roof where the raised stripes are on top.  I was expecting when got there 1-2 inches crushed inward.

Sort of funny, well NOT, but not only do I need a NEW garage door installed at my house but the garage door at the body shop caused even more damage to my truck.

I think I better pray to the Garage Door gods to leave me alone since I am garage doored OUT!!  Cry

Maybe if I piss and bitch enough, the body shop will waive 250 of the 500 dollar deductible?  I can 110% guarantee you if the front quarter panel does not get in-line with the passenger front door not a dime will be paid.   Quality control sucks for sure.  I even asked the guy who called me at the body shop that if your facility was suppose to be advertised as such a modern facility how come the door does not have sensors on bottom to STOP and lift back up if an object such as a full sized truck is in the door?  They said they have doors that have sensors but not the detail shop one.  I said best get that taken care of now right?????  He assured me the truck would be fixed to my satisfaction, will see on that, especially since a body panel straightener cannot see improper alignment by what appears to be near 3/8" off.  The top and bottom line up but the 12 inches in the middle of the door/front panel is surely off not lined up and that is where the deer mostly crumpled the front quarter panel OUTWARD the most.    Do not give a heck if they have to remove the front quarter panel again after fully done and bent it back straight and then repaint the entire panel again if need be not accepting it the way it is on a 1 year old 35K truck.    The front quarter panel was replaced so did the deer push INWARD just a tad the front part middle of the passenger front door that was not replaced, just repainted?

Isn't Trugreen a lawn care company?  If so, I never understood someone paying for fertilizer and weed controlling a yard when for the most part easily done by yourself at  less than 3/4's of the cost they do it for.  It might not be quite as good as what chemicals they use, but good enough for most.  My neighbor pays for a lawncare co. to spray/weed his yard, while I do it myself nearly as good with few more weeds is all,  while my other IDIOT neighbor below me having his yard 90% weeds and 10% grass.  I spray the heck out of his creeping charlie creeping onto my yard so as to stop my yard from being all weeds on the border.  Never understood him buying a 5K riding mower just to cut weeds in a yard that looks like crap..  Luckily, or so I hope since new neighbors could be worse,  he is moving supposedly in 2-3 more years when he retires to live up north on a lake with land which his son will pay for since he is rich.

Yard work and yard condition just isn't that important to some.

Some enjoy a great looking yard of grass and some prefer to spend the time and money on other pursuits.

My buddy and his wife would spend weekends and a boatload of money on their yard and many a time, couldn't go riding because they had to weed, or mulch, or seed, or thatch, or plant, or cut, etc, etc their yard.

Now, he can't ride due to illness and the moles & grubs did in his yard.

Lovely lawn for an insect feast.

I too don't understand the constant fettleing that makes the grass grow faster thereby needing more attention.

I cut mine and spray for weeds as needed.

To each his own...

We have 10 (4x8) raised beds organic garden in a deer fence in our front yard so no spraying any chemicals whatsoever.

Bonnie (being an herbalist) picks the wild dandelion for medicine and greens, the plantain is used for medicine, the nettles and red clover for tea and/or medicine, the mullein for medicine we basically have everything being used except for the grass lol

You may also notice if you have poison ivy growing on your borders that jewelweed also grows. It is used to reduce the inflammation of poison ivy.

The lawns with no spraying have tons of earthworms and healthier soil.  The dandelion roots dig deep into  our clay soil to help bring nutrients up.

Our yard is green (and a little yellow depending on the dandelions) and never dies back in the heat unlike some of our neighbors.

Not everyone who sees things or values things differently than I do does so due to serious intellectual flaw.  What I have noticed is that the term, idiot, is used most often by those of us who carry our own intellectual challenges.  I have tried to remove that term from my own vocabulary unless I really intend to say what it means.

I don't know why you would expect the body shop to eat all or part of your deductible. An unintended accident happened and they are going to make it right. What more do they owe you?

How in the heck do you close the detail shop garage door with a full sized truck sitting smack dab in the middle of the door?  Why does not this supposedly so-called 'state of the art' body shop as advertised on their website have a sensor to trip the door to go back up if an object is in the doorway?  They said they have sensors in other doors but not that detail shop one, ya think about time to spend money and put sensors on all doors, dah?   uglystupid2

Body shop called and said they could not get out all the scratches on roof so have to sand down and blend in paint in those 5-6 dents undented now doing paintless dent repair.  Going to be in shop until Tuesday  unless they F it up again.  They said they did adjust the body panels of passenger door and front quarter panel to line up better in the middle 12 inch section somehow will see on Tuesday I guess otherwise back to the drawing board?   Sad    Dropping the entire inside headliner down worries me as well since will make sure it is all in place and in good OEM new shape when I pick it up hopefully Tuesday.

Luckily this large body shop has free loaner vehicles since will be 9 working days in the shop now for what should have been a 5 day project they said originally.

I will not ask for a reduction in the 500 dollar deductible but they may not be TOPS on my body shop repair listing next time around.

Good news at least the garage door installer showed up today done a good job.  One good thing happened today and now can actually go out my normal way thru the garage for garbage and vehicles, etc.  We never use our front home entrance door until the past 3 weeks non stop use.  I think our garage is one of the most vital parts of our home, next to the kitchen and poddy... Yes, I do have a yard maintance company that comes and sprays and fertilize only. I like doing the yard and it does look good but if I did it all I wouldn't have time to ride. So not too hard to figure that one out. Big yard and lots of edging and bushes to keep trim. If I didn't have a HOA I could get away with less. My yard does look good!  coolsmiley

I am taking up YOGA ASAP if these are the views one could gaze at and stare upon.....

I could attempt to be MORE flexible as well doing YOGA for other activities if you catch my drift... Roll Eyes

I am hoping Tuesday pickup for 2017 truck since body shop has to repaint the roof and blend it in since the scratches they did when lowering detail shop garage door on roof is not coming all the way out they said over the phone.  Will be glad to get rid of the electric hybrid 2017 RAV4 although at near 30 mpg is near double that of my V8 truck.  I do not like the split second it does not engage the gas engine from a stop sign and lags/chugs switching from all electric to gas engine enough to feel it everytime from a stop sign like the tranny is slipping.  Is also weird not to hear upon startup any noise all electric at first so that is why I leave the radio turned on to know that the electric engine is running and can leave/get going.

gas mpg on the electric rental RAV4 is 30 hwy. so not so great am sure a FWD same 4 cylinder engine regular gas engine on hwy. would deliver 27 mpg or so.  IN town driving is where the electric hybrid shines which is 10-20 percent tops of my driving.

At least this weekend I have my new home garage door working and installed. Yah!!!!! cooldude

yah, one day at a time.  Been so long ago that I had 3-4 things need fixing I cannot remember when I had such a bad week.  Friday while the garage door installer was finishing up my kid drove the SUV away and heard a grinding noise from rear end thinking it was the brake pads/rotors.  YEP,  took off today the rear pads after 10K miles or so ago cleaning them up and putting back in that the left rear side pads were pretty much NOT there at all.  I guess I should have replaced them 10K miles ago or so (1 year ago almost) when cleaned them up since put some grooves in the inside and outside of the rotor left side.  I did not want to replace the rotors at now 60K miles so had to run to OReillys and get BrakeBest ceramic pads to get by for now.  I went for 50 bucks with better ceramic ones vs. 30 bucks for organic ones.  Planning on in April taking them off again to make sure all is o.k. and not sticking or uneven wearing,  etc. when it warms up some more since the old OEM brake pads were shot totally on drivers rear outside while the inside left rear had not much pad left at all either.  Weird though the right side rear pads were 1/4th left outside and over 1/2 left on inside but since had off as well,  replaced that right side as well.   10K miles ago at 45K miles or so,  the front pads looked 1/2 shot but more even wear and not as stuck as the stubborn rear pads were.

I guess dealers do not lie when they say every 30-40K miles the brake pads should be cleaned up and lubed and possibly replaced even at 40K miles??????  I was surprised that Oreillys said one rotor was only 40 bucks though I thought they were a lot more????  Guess not nowadays??

Personally, they'd owe me a courtesy car or financial equivalent from the original time I was supposed to pick up the completed car to the day THEIR damage was repaired and I could have my car back.

Sadly, inexpensive rotors from China seems to be what everyone stocks now, and actually turning the old ones is usually the same cost (or close enough) that many shops got rid of their brake lathes entirely. Can't confirm it, but a guy "in the industry" said some OEM rotors are cast overseas and only machined here in the States. I know the ones on my '03 F150 were flaked like puff pastry after around 50k miles.   Angry

Must be true since when OReillys Auto said ONLY 40 bucks for one rear rotor I was like NO WAY and they do turn the OEM's though for ONLY 10 bucks which I thought was a good deal if needed which I think that one needs turning that the brake pad was worn down all the way grinding a groove into the rotor about 1cm wide all around.

My old 2004 chevy impala had rotors warped and rusted at only 30K miles and 2 years old car is all, so China must have been the culprit way back then as well???  who knows??  but NEW OEM rotors should last more than 30K almost all hwy. miles.  before pulsating badly when braking.  Back then, I found a Chevy dealer willing to do their warranty work since told them NO WAY in 2 years and 30K miles is all that rotors should warp and be out of round enough that whne applyiing brakes it pulsates the car back and forth violently.  He actually agreed being service mgr. and honored the 3/36K warranty since he had another 2004 chevy impala low mileage do the same thing once already.
