Is there a mod for converting the rear turn signals to serve not only as turn signals but running lights and/or brake lights? I have red lenses and would love having them serve 3 purposes: turn signals, brake and running lights. Hope to have Big BF wire me up the next time he blows through Mayland.

Peter, take a look at the post Whitey put up yesterday "Rear Turn Signals" There is more than one to accomplish what you are asking.

There are RTB modules that do just what you're after. They're been around for years. They're designed for single filament bulbs that most bikes use on rear signals. If what you're after is configuring it yourself, that's doable using relays and diodes. The relays are used as over rides. For example, to disable the brake input any time the signals are activated to prevent their conflict. A blinking filament and a steady bright filament in the same bulb don't mix. Diodes prevent cross feed (4-way flashing)that happens when you connect brake input lines to the rear signals. Electricity will cross over to the non-activated side's signals via the brake input wires which act as an electrical bridge. It's a lot of fun.

[edit] Forgot, but resistors have to be wired into the running light input wires to drop the voltage so you get a lower intensity running light. However, I replaced the rear single filament sockets with 1157 dual filament sockets and let the low-filament drop the brightness instead of using resistors.
