General plan, subject to change; We plan to leave for Inzane about June 3. That gives us 7 days to get there. It looks to be about 2,400 miles. We will probably add a few miles to that for scenic detours. It looks like George, Big Mac and I are riding together. I know there is a couple more on the fence. If anybody else is interested in riding with us, your welcome to join us.

Hey John, If you guys are heading out on the 3rd I might just see about tagging along with you for a bit. I did pick up some stock standard pipes so if I get to it and get the Cobra's replaced I'll blend right in with you stealth-like wingers.  Please include me on any tentative days, dates, route plans, planned stops, etc. |

Pipes Done!  Finally changed out an old shifter seal that's needed some attention while I was in there. Also replaced a header stud. Haven't had to mess with any of those for a good 16 years plus when I got the Cobras. To thread lock or not to thread lock, that is the question... on header cap nuts. The just slightly pinching the header gaskets out of round so that they hold tight recessed in the header worked great, not to mention on the lift. Both made this go round much smoother. Thought I'd check in for any general plans coming together yet; departure date, overnight stops, general miles per day, etc? Just wanted to factor in if I'll be able to hang with your group for some or part of your trip out.  |

Looks good Gary, I never put on any thread lock I would just torque them properly and then check them after you put a few miles on them. I would check my pipe nuts every oil change or definitely it I heard something.
Looks like we are leaving or meeting up on the 3rd of June. I plan on going to Dennis's house in Blythe on the 2nd. On the 3rd we would meet John, George and Ron somewhere in Phoenix. It might be best to meet you along the 10 somewhere and maybe on the 4th so you don't have to back track to meet us. As the time gets closer we'll pin this down. If you have any ideas on where to hook up let us know. Looking forward to riding with you and all the other boys. We usually plan the next days ride on the night before. Like what to see and where to stay. I would like to keep the days around 350 miles or so. Sometimes it doesn't work out and we might have to ride a longer day. Right now I'm dealing with back issues and hope to be ready to go by then. I have 50 days to get it taken care of.

Sorry to hear about the back Dave. Mine is pretty tempermental itself but mostly self induced from bad posture (should have listened to mom). So you guys are taking the southern, somewhat coastal route via I-10? Hadn't really thought about that, it makes for a whole lot of TX. You could finally check-off Carlsbad Caverns. Big Bend NP is also a worthwhile stop but could easily take a full day plus to thoroughly appreciate it. I've been through as far as HotGlue's on "10" but never further east on into LA. If you end up finding yourself anywhere near Birmingham, AL, Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum makes for a nice stop to stretch your legs and check out some great bikes. Pretty neat place, I think it ran $15 to get in and gave a 10% AAA discount. Thanks for the update, that helps a bit. Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum  |

Gary, I talked to John and he thought it might be cooler to take the 40. I think it will be warm no matter which way we go. Give John a call and see what might work best.

This is a group ride and we make group decisions. So whether we take the 40 or the 10 is up for discussion. Just remember, we can take one and come back on the other, or we can do something else. We are open to thoughts and ideas. So what are your thoughts?
