HELP! With 179,000 mile on my standard i've serviced my turn signal switch several times. Well now it's seems to be beyond servicing. The RH signal post has all the copper filed off and will not work. i'd think it should work in contact with silver solder. Is there a replacement?
thanks ahead of time for help as aways!

Both the left and right switch assemblies can be purchased at Partzilla.com and probably others. That's where I got mine.

Heck, I didn't know there was copper under all that patina. Might require an implant though instead of just a filling, but it's worth a try with the solder idea.

that's exactly what mine looks like. Why wouldn't it still make contact?

Perhaps, it's the bridge then. If there isn't anything restricting the spring from pushing on the bridge as it should, you might raise the bump on the bridge using a punch etc. from the backside of the bridge (question mark, graphic below). The bump has a mesa, so maybe use a flat punch. Another thing, the bridge might have acquired a dip where it should be flat. Another option is transplanting a bridge from a donor switch. The bridge is probably generic.

A fix I've used is to stretch the spring.

Might help.

My 1100 blinker works sometimes.  Had not dug into it yet.  I think they are the same.

I have not fixed the turn signals yet. I have studied and tested and stretched the bridge spring to this conclusion. The right side is flashing and therefor the switch is working. The problem has to be the socket. The running lights work. The left flasher works. The right rear flashes. It has to be the socket.   Angry Embarrassed crazy2

I did break the tab on the center section to my side covers checking the flasher... tickedoff

Had mine apart, cleaned real well but still would only work on the Left by holding the switch.
Pulled apart again, found the copper bridge was hanging up in the housing. A bit of careful filing on the edges and now works fine.
