I did a search on the forum to see if anyone had tried using some throw over saddle bags on a 14-15 Valkyrie. I really didn't find an answer..

I just bought a 14 and me and my girlfriend went for a ride last Saturday for the first time and it was not fun with zero storage on the Valk. Im used to having saddle bags.

I then of course started looking at the OEM bags but with the mounts and bags its almost $900 bucks so I went to Ebay and found some throw over bags by Mustang for $50 shipped. Gonna give them a try. They apparently have Velcro in the middle and some straps to attach them. I don't want to leave these on permanently obviously, just use them when me and my lady go out for a weekend ride.

With that in mind, just curious if anyone has tried any type of throw over bags on their Valk.

Any comments would be appreciated and thanks..

Have your GF wear a backpack..... Cheesy   If you have a back rest you can get some bike luggage that slips over that and rests either on the seat or the luggage rack (if you have that).

I have Corbin bags, but imagine throw over could be functional and a good temporary fix.  Make sure you have some kind of stay mounted to keep them from getting inter mingled with the tire and wheel and have the fender protected from wear as well

I added Tourmaster Cruiser III slant nylon bags because they looked better on this bike than the leather-like I had on my X. To keep the paint scratch free, I applied 3M Scotchguard paint protection film to the fender where the bags contact it. When I ride without the bags, I like the look better than with the stays/brackets.

Nelson Rigg tail bag and Saddlebags.
Tail bag not connected to saddlebags, leave off when riding two-up.
Straps have lots of adjustment and lowering 5-6in. for girlfriend, easy peasy.
This is the 3rd different MC they have been used on. cooldude

I have a set of Cortech sport bags on mine. Work very well and don't look bad too me.
