Wanted to order the Austone, unavailable till the end of April. Wanted to order my 2nd choice, the champiro. None available, at least at Walmart online. This would be my 1st venture into the darkside & chose the 2 mentioned tires mostly from research on these forums. Looked on eBay (thanks Britman) & just saw used tires or over priced. Any other vender or tire suggestions? Thanks for any input, Shape

Not everyone. But I would consider it if I didn't get a tad over 20K on all my M/C tires

Chris, what are you running that gives you 20K in use?

Dunlop E3 and Avon Cobra both deliver at least 20K for me.

Jeff rides on cotton roads I don't know about cotton roads, but in the flatlands I would imagine they can make the asphalt a bit smoother since we have no real hills or sharp curves. Just guessing though

The Kumho you mentioned is what the PO put on my Interstate before he sold it to me. It only has 7710 miles on it now & still looks like new so I can't tell you what kind of mileage you'll get from it. He got 23K from the Bridgestone Potenza he ran before the Kumho. This was my first time on a car tire so I can't compare to the ride of others but it took no time to get used to.

I’ll NEVER join the dark side of the force, but I know that many do successfully do so and never come back to the light. I ride too many curvy and fun roads to have a car tire “yeah yeah they do fine” but I personally just don’t see any real advantage at all beyond getting potentially better longevity. To each their own for sure, just keep the rubber side down.

Well I tried to go dark side about a year ago but I couldn't get anybody anywhere to mount it for me so I ended up putting a Dunflop on there and I've run about 12,000 so far on that tire and maybe I've got four or five thousand to go. but I got a champiro sitting in my shed which like I said I can't get anybody to mount for me so I guess I'll stay with a motorcycle tire at least for now. For what it's worth here in Washington state we have tons of hills and Twisties so I wasn't really looking forward to adapting to the feel of a CT.

Well I tried to go dark side about a year ago but I couldn't get anybody anywhere to mount it for me
When I first went dark side I had problems finding someone to mount mine. The was a Firestone in town that I lied to and told them the rim was off of a trailer, the sales guy fell for it but the tire guy rolled it out and said: "here's your MC tire". A friend of mine went to a Discount Tire and told them it was for a custom MC that was occasionally raced, they fell for it and mounted it. I now have all of mine mounted at a used tire place, they can't balance them, no biggie as I use Ride-On, but they do mount them no questions and never more than $15.

Me too. $15 and no questions asked. I roll in the wheel and the new tire.

I just mounted a 2nd Hankook Optimo H426, and recently bought it for $74.00.
I got 20k out of the first Hankook. I however ran it at to high a psi (38psi) and the center wore too quickly. I will run this one at 34psi and expect to get 30k out of it.
Hope this helps.
