I truly feel sorry for your loss Daniel.  Sorry though...I couldn't read the story completely through.  Maybe tomorrow but not today.  You truly become attached to pets because they give you undying love, friendship, compassion...

I am sorry for your loss.  I too had a kitty that was precious to me.  He was a manx and had 6 toes on each foot, thus the name Sixx.  He was shot with a BB gun by the neighbors kid.  It broke my heart.   I feel your pain.   RIP Casper

I, unlike Joe, nervously read on even though I knew that I was going to be touched in a very sore spot. It hurt a little but felt very good to remember. I too am sorry for your loss, Daniel.

Sorry to hear of your loss Daniel...........

I used to get replacement pets until I lost Bandit.

Chinese Pug, smashed in nose that they can't breath through.......

I swore after watching him pass, I'd not watch another animal die with me in attendance.............

So sorry for you loss Daniel, they are family. I have a stray that adopted us 6 years ago and he is the same size, 23 lbs last time the vet weighed him.
Solid black with a heart of gold. I have lost some before and I know a piece of me goes with each, all we can do is show our love while they are
with us.

Daniel, I too am guilty of humanizing pets.  I refer to them as my furkin.  I lost many pets.  Some disappeared, happens out in the country with cats, some I had to have put down.  It never gets easier.  I think as we get older, it actually gets harder.  My condolences buddy.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So sorry Daniel, I have been there as well.  The end is utterly devastating, however, the many years they are by your side are more precious than can be put into words.
The Rainbow bridge poem reminded me of the actual website, may you find some solcae there.

Sorry for the loss.  Cats have stayed with me longer than any human so far in my life.  I have a snowshoe now that is my companion.

I know how you are feeling and it's really not good.  I lost the all-black Inky and the all-white Casper within 3 months of each other in '06.  Inky was 14 when abdominal cancer got him and Casper was 1 week shy of his 20th birthday when he succumbed to old age.  They were my kids.  Casper was 5 weeks old and 1.6 pounds and required bottle feeding when I saved him from a one-way trip to the shelter.  Inky was a couple of months old when I found him cowering against the inside curb of a left turn lane in a 6 lane boulevard at midnight.  When I picked him up and he started purring, I was done.  I still don't have another cat.

As others have said, very sorry for your loss. I lost a great Maine Coon 20 years ago and still can't look at the many photos we have. They are wonderful cats, frequently referred to as the cat for people who like dogs. Our two fellas are nearing middle age now and I don't look forward to losing them down the road.

I'm sorry for your loss, brother. Not a cat person but definitely an animal person. Every one that leaves us hurts.

Daniel....I feel for you buddy, I felt your pain a few times. I too am fond of animals, so sorry for losing your furry friend Casper the Maine Coon. As we speak we have two Maine Coons (one has six toes) all have been rescued from the cat pound. And two tabbys also. It's a full house here, but OK. These furry things are what we call our family and we miss them very much if they weren't here. The other day....after the time change instead of wakeing me up at five AM they were waking me up at 4 AM to eat. They have no concept of time an wonder why I won't get up and feed them????? Holy crap it's 4 AM kitty's. But really....I do feel your pain and feel for you. I won't say you'll get over it because I don't think that's going to happen, so every once in a while think about her and she'll bring a smile to you. You know she loved you as much as you loved her.....
