It's getting to be that time again.

When: Thursday 12 November - 7:00pm Dinner / 8:00pm "Meeting"

Where:  That's the point of this thread.  July was La Hacienda Ranch in Colleyville (central).  August was RG's Burger & Grill in Denton (north-central).  September was Ballard St Cafe in Wylie (northeast).  October was Mercado Juarez in Ft Worth (west).

Where should we go next?

I won't suggest a place, but it should be BBQ and in the Frisco/Allen area.  IMHO.

We found a great little restaurant in Fairview called The Venue.  The food was good and they have live entertainmnet on most nights.  My only negative thought is the live music was loud and it may be difficult to carry on a conversation across the table.  The restaurant and parking lot would easily hold a large group.

For RM -- They have BBQ on the menu.

That's not the place with karaoke that Wanderer loves, is it?

I have to be at a business dinner anyway, but would have enjoyed watching the show if it's the same place.

If there's a live band, it probably won't work.  We used to meet at Wilhoite's in Grapevine and finally ended that relationship due to the band starting up downstairs and drowning us out, even though we were in a closed room with doors closed.

Is there a Spring Creek BBQ over there in east land?  They normally have a separate meeting room or rooms and the BBQ is usually pretty good.

There is a Randy White's BBQ in Frisco in the NE quadrant of Preston & Main.  The food is good, there is an enclosed patio area we could take over, and they have free soft-serve & cobbler (sorta like pie   Wink  ).

Bummer.  I thought that Randy White's/Hutchins BBQ suggestion just might be enough to lure you out.   Wink

It is in Richardson just north of the Chase Bank at Beltline on the east side of 75, northbound access road.

If y'all keep talking BBQ for a meeting place in the North Dallas Area, I may have to just throw my hat in the ring and hold the meeting at my house and serve y'all my BBQ, and sit out on my new porch and enjoy the evening discussing this fine group that we have.

If Flyboy really wants to cook, I'll crawl there if I have to and start pa$$ing the hat, but he already gave us his Sunday this week.  That said, it did get him out on his Valkyrie for the first time in a while, and I suspect his request for input regarding his route back to the hangar was cover for "getting lost" on such a perfect afternoon for a ride.

Otherwise,

I would vote for Randy White's and let Flyboy off the hook.  It was a really nice gesture, though.

The wife will be heading out of town on Thursday so I am good to go if y'all want to hold the meeting here. I can fix brisket, pulled pork, sausage, baked beans and peach cobbler. But it is up to powers that be to decide where we have it, but I would love nothing more than to have everyone here.

On a serious note..  If everyone opts for Flyboy's invite, I think we should come up with some type of compensation/plate fee to offset his out-of-pocket expenses.  That way, if some of the Valkers bring buds (not Budweiser), no one will feel uncomfortable about partaking in the food and festivities.

                                                                                                             Thoughts?

OK folks, start planning your Thursday around 1) fasting from breakfast to dinner, and 2) wearing your eating pants.  We're having the Dinner / Meeting at Flyboy's!

If you've enjoyed his fine fare in the past, you know you'll want to be there.  If you haven't, this is not to be missed.  Come as early as you can get there and stay as late as you want.

Good point, Tom.  I suggest that everyone put one $10.00 bill per mouth in the hat when we pa$$ it around.

Flyboy, is there anything we can bring to make this feel more like a pot-luck than a catered affair?  And, can you post some directions to your house?  Thanks.

Let's get a headcount for our host.

We'll be 2 mouths.

My address is 3201 Van Zandt Rd., Melissa, TX 75454. Use Goolemaps.com and it will show you the house. Right now Fannin Rd., on the south end of the neighborhood is under construction. You can take the 121 exit to Bonham (Exit 45), about a mile up veer to the left on Hwy 5 (Melissa/Anna). As you come into the houses, (school zone/ crossing) there is a small Mexican restaurant on the left side of the road with green and red lights on the building, TURN LEFT JUST PAST THE RESTAURANT. This is the other end of Fannin Rd. continue west on Fannin and go to Cardinal Dr. (detour/road closed sign), turn right. The schools will be on your right side. Go all the way down past the football stadium and just past the high school parking lot, turn left onto Kaufman St. I live at the bottom of the hill, on the north shore of the pond. My cell is 214-893-9171.

Menu:

Brisket
Pork Butt (pulled pork)
Pork ribs (AWARD WINNING)
Sausage
Homemade BBQ sauce
Homemade Mac n Cheese
Baked beans
Peach cobbler
Vanilla Ice cream
