Needed an oil change and decided to put on some new tires since the rear was pretty close and had a plug in it and the front was a bit worse for wear. I couldn't believe it this was the first oil change with over 5k miles on it almost went 6k was getting the shakes.  Wink Its so nice to take the tires off clean the rims. Checked the rest of the bike over and no problems found. I love the single sided swing arm on this bike it makes changing the rear tire so easy and fast.

The front lift pads are steel and have teeth on them and the pads are rectangle in shape so while I have to put rags on them to not mar the engine guards they don't perfectly fit into the guards. So to get it right requires a little effort but the rear is very secure and if I would just take the time and make something for the engine guards there would be no issue at all. It would take something like the shape of a tuning fork with rubber on it and then you could kick the bike and nothing would happen. As it is now you can sit on it bang it and do any repair that you need to do, its that secure.

I think the idea of the bike being so high takes some mental adjustment also. I must admit that even now seeing it that high makes me a bit nervous till I recheck how secure it is. Once on the lift and the placement of the lifting pads is right its not going anywhere. The bike is not tippy at all and the arms by shear weight will not move. If you think about most bikes being lifted solely by a flat motorcycle jack this is way more secure.

I cant tell you how nice it is to be able to clean and work on the bike from that height or be able to adjust the height to anything you want.

"I am still laying on the garage floor for maintenance ."

Hell, I'm still working on the patio, because the garage is too filled with other projects. uglystupid2
It works, but a couple times last summer I have turned around to reach for a tool and there is a snake or tarantula or scorpion passing by my tool bag.   ??? The good news is that it is usually a garden or King Snake - but once last fall it was a bona fide rattler - spooked me.

One of these days, a garage expansion with a lift... cooldude

Dont you try to use another size of tires? I use 120/70-19  front and 190/55-17  rear... My bike becomes taller.. and speed little to faster.... really.. I like it..

The front is the same size you are using the rear is the OEM size of 180/55/17. Did not want to change the ride height or riding qualities and didn't want to go narrower with the rear tire.
