Question for you who are more electrically inclined than I, (which includes anyone who has not drilled through a BMW main wiring harness just trying to install a fog light switch):

I have installed a headlight high/low modulator (for daytime use) on all of my previous bikes since they were first available.  I’m a strong believer after decades of use and seeing people’s double-takes first hand.  I want one for my ’14 Valk, but I’ve never purchased one for a bike with LED lighting before and didn’t want to buy something that doesn’t work.  I did a search on our forum for advice or a conversation about what works, but only found units for sale in the classifieds, which only made me wonder more.  Has anyone added one to their New Valk?  Suggestions, e.g. which brand/model?  Does our so-called "flash to pass" switch make anything more complicated?  Thanks in advance!  (After my recent experience with buying the turn-signal cancellation device, I’m asking first and buying later, instead of the other way around.  I’m calling that progress!)  Thanks again.

That's a great question.  I tried the LED brake light modulator and it didn't work for me, so I doubt the headlight modulator will.  Is there a specific one that you were thinking of?  I highly doubt the basic one would work.

No, I had none in mind, brand-wise, at all.  I did a search on Amazon (haven't done one on Revzilla, J/C Cycles, et al regular go-to accessories suppliers as I wanted input from the group first as to what to maybe look for) and all I found was one brand that was available on Amazon for five different prices that varied quite a bit.  (Although packaging looked the same. ? )  Didn't know (again, didn't spend the time looking) if they were diff. models for diff. applications or what.

I have already purchased a modulator for the brake light, can't think of the brand off of the top of my head (it's in the garage; it's sleeting here right now so don't really care to go out and check!), but it's supposed to work.  If it does, I'll post my results.

I have about half a dozen different accessories that I've selectively bought over the "can't ride this month, again" season.  Gear indicator LED, "smart" turn signal cancellation device, custom (for this bike) switch(es) gear, a compatible auxiliary fuse block to accommodate future accessories not invented yet, etc., that I haven't installed myself due to my fear of bastardizing my wiring harness.  Too nice a bike to do that to.  Figure I'm going to have my local dealership put that all on (went there last week and they're good with that), correctly and compatibly, give me an oil change to synthetic while they're at it (I now have only 5500 miles on it; not even broken in and I can already appreciate its sophistication), and then button it all up with the new black alum. belly pan to protect her "delicates" underneath.  I have decided that this is a bike that can last me forever (well, MY forever!) and I want to do it right.

That's another reason I enjoy this forum so much: people share both what works and what doesn't.  I've also learned more about EVERYTHING OTHER THAN MOTORCYCLES on this forum than I ever thought I wanted to know.  I guess that's why there's a "General Forum", as well!  Thanks for your reply B.

Thanks for the info, Keywasted.  Really appreciate it!  (And you others who responded, as well.)  Perfect example of what I meant when I said I'd probably have better luck checking the Forum than doing my own research.  It's SO much nicer when ordering something to KNOW it's going to work/fit rather than just hope!
FYI, that is the brand that was advertised on Amazon, with several different prices.  I'm now guessing that they make model-specific modulators and they just have different costs.  Thanks again, All!

FYI, All, I'm not ignoring your questions. Haven't installed my stuff yet. Had the appt. w/ the dealership and had to reschedule. I own a landscaping company and the weather broke and customers started taking away all my play time. I'll reschedule soon, get everything installed, and then I'll have about five or more aftermarket items to review for you after I've put some miles on. Thanks again for all the feedback, and as far as the headlight modulator goes, I went with the one suggested above: PathBlazer by Kisan, part no. P115W-H3-VK4, specifically for the new Valk.
