Finally got a friend to come by and stay with Rita, I was real hesitant to leave but both of them insisted. The lady that came to cover for me said it was a classic case of caregiver's syndrome....afraid to leave the person they're caring for. Sure felt good to just get out in the open, turn on the CC, prop up your feet and lean back....letting the wind hit your face. Here I am, 80 years old, been riding two wheeled contraptions for well over 60 years and still get a kick out of it. Was good seeing some of the gang again, been much too long but can't be helped. I guess it paid to fuss about not getting our food in a reasonable amount of time 'cuz it ended up being "on the house." We still tipped the little gal that waited on our table, wasn't her fault and she was running her little keester off. I took the long way home, got back around 5:00 and ready for a shower....got a bit warm in the city traffic. Gave my helper a $50 and thought I was going to have to take her down and shove it down her holster, kept telling me she did out of the goodness of her heart. So, I gave her a big hug before she left....she called back an hour later fussing at me. Seems she found a $50 bill stuck in her belt in back. Was well worth it to me.

Total miles was just shy of 150, used about 3/4 tank of gas, pretty good mileage when you're only running 55-60. Have 185 miles on this tank and still have a 1/4 left. Going to take some elbow grease on the front of the bike now, bugs galore on the fairing and windshield. Hope to get out again before hot weather, I do a fair amount of running around town on errands but that's just not the same. Until nest time......  cooldude

Wink That's terrific John, so glad you got someone to sit w/ Rita allowing you to get out on a ride. Wow, ridding for over 60 yrs that is incredilbe.  Shocked Good move sticking that $50 in her belt, she might be willing to come back again without hesitation.  angel None the less that is a great friend to have cover for you in time of need. Prayers for you both.  coolsmiley
