I keep blowing a 5amp fuse under side panel. It says it is auxiliary fuse but whenever it blows I lose my brake lights. All the other lights work fine. When the Brake like are working when the brake lights are activated they give a fancy little blinking light show like a cops lights and then go solid color. I just replaced the fuse yesterday went for a short ride and the fuse was blown, I replaced it and it's working but I'm going for another ride tonight. Any thoughts on what besides a loose wire might be causing it and do all Valk brake lights do that fancy light show our have I got something special?

Someone installed an aftermarket device.  I would check all the wiring and bulbs, if nothing obvious, try taking off that device and see if the fuse blows in stock mode.

That's what I wondered. So I take it your lights don't dance around when activated?

Mine do.  I installed this brake flasher from http://www.3rdbrakeflasher.com/brake-light-flasher-c-65/vehicle-brake-light-flasher-module-with-brake-force-monitor-p-183.html

There's no need to wire such a device through the accy power circuit - it's already switched when connected on the brake line.  Seems you may have a problem like a wire touching ground on it.

I haven't seen a device like that on the bike anywhere but will have to take a better look now that I have an idea what to look for.

The OEM brake light has no fancy flashing mode.  Interstate tail and brake lights are fed by a 15A fuse (10A signals/brake/horn on Std/Tourer) behind the right side cover.  There are several different companies that make/made brake light modulator modules, in addition to the one MarkT mentioned:

To be honest I haven't seen anything resembling any of those devices on my bike, unless it's really well hidden.

Do you have an after market brake light bulb like the Kisan?

https://www.amazon.com/Kisan-TailBlazer-20W-D-Brake-Flasher/dp/B00118079Y/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

IF YOU DO be very careful removing it cause the buggers are so fragile the glass will crack.

Also not you have to push any bulb in quite a bit before twisting it to remove.

Driving lights work fine, even when the fuse is blown. It's just the brake lights.

Brake light modulator. Great device to have on the back of your bike to be seen, along with the head light modulator. I still need to buy the brake light one for my new to me IS.

The devious is only about 3/8" sq x 1" long. They give you vampire connectors to connect, check for those. They are the worse things in the world for electrical connections. Had a brand new car burn out it's wire harness from using those things back in the day before every car had intermittent wipers.

Ok so yes I found one of those devices Behind the tail lights under the trunk pan. That wasn't the issue. I kept checking various areas but the power was intermittent, eventually I ended up removing the entire wiring harness all the way from the rear lights to the side panel. Kept checking but power was not constant. Of course the first thing I checked was the factory connector under the side panel but it seemed fine...NOT! In the end that was the culprit. I disassembled the connector and straightened all the little contacts and then reassembled and finally everything works as it should. I have another post on here about fuses and as it turns out the brakes were not blowing the fuses at all but every time I went into the side panel to check the fuses when the brakes weren't working I would inadvertently jiggle the brake connection when replacing the blown fuse which was actually caused by an incorrectly wired relay. Two totally separate issues that seemed to be one issue. Took most of the day but the phat gurl is ready to leave on a two week tour in just twelve days.
