And I probably know the answer to one of them. This morning I started the Valk at the gas station and as I pulled out the headlight did not seem too bright. I have running lights wired up completely separate from the headlights. Headed down the road following a car  and about a mile later the light suddenly got brighter and the high beam indicator came on, my first thought was the dimmer switch was halfway in between and changed itself however I think the headlight had just come on. I suspect I need to do starter button maintenance, am I correct? My other question is how do you keep brakes from dragging on cold mornings I pretty sure it is because the caliper pistons are sticking short of disassembly I've tried to clean them up and used caliper lube on them with no luck. As soon as you ride a mile or so they are free again. Thanks

Yea a matter of a fact it seems like if I wash the bike and then don't ride it for a couple of days it is worse. Had an old Goldwing that was the same way and I never did cure it. I thinking about flushing/changing the fluid to see if that helps.

As far as the headlight goes. I would clean the plug that goes into the headlamp bulb and try a differant bulb as well. I had the same thing happen last fall. But my bulb died a few days later {8 years old} . Went to change it and found a bit of light corrosion built up on the plug. Cleaned it with some electro cleaner and emery cloth. Replaced bulb and works great.

Thanks I'll try that first. I been meaning to change the bulb anyway since this Valk don't light the road near as good as the other one.

Changing the brake fluid is a good idea if it is dark in color in the eyeball port.

Other than that, what do you expect to gain changing the fluid?

The fluid has nothing to do with the hanging up, if in fact that is what it is doing.

From the way you talk, it sounds like you use a pressure washer.  If you do, and you don't blow dry the caliper guides, they are tryng to rust more than like likely and after a couple of uses they are fine.

If so, as you 1st get ready to ride, work which ever brake is hanging on ya.  Suspect it is the rear.

I realize ya like your bike to shine, but damn it stay away from it with those damn pressure washers.   They do more harm for ya than leaving it dirty....................

every time i pull a tire i clean the calipers if the cups do not clean up and slide easy i take them off and pop the cups out and clean them and clean the seal area too change the fluid with new dot 4 fluid.i miss the dust boots that the older bikes had on them they worked good as long as they were not ripped if you look at the shoes you can tell what one is sticking  by the wear on them if their sticking their dirty.never force the cups back in if you open the bleeder and they are that hard to push in they are dirty
