Hello everybody,
I just wanted to THANK everyone who sent their recommendations. I re-attached the tank (whew- what a bugger that is), thumped the carbs with a rubber hammer and started the bike (cautiously) and looked to see if any fuel was leaking...NOPE!!! cooldude I let it run for about 15 minutes and took it for a short ride and all was good. So to all of those who sent suggestions again "THANKS!" It seemed indeed it was the gaskets that needed to be re-introduced to the taste of fuel.
Have a great everybody and keep the rubber side down.

Glad you got the leak to stop. You said you tapped on the carb bowls. Seems more likely that you had a stuck float.

In the future it is better to go back to the original post and add the final results so someone searching in the future will see the problem and the resolution.
