Where on the bike is the ground for the main wire harness?  Also is it one wire or several wires on one grommet. Is there more than one ground in the harness.  I am having issues with a ground in the back of the bike.  A pic would be helpful if available. It is a 2001 standard if that makes any difference.
As always thanks for the help and knowledge.

I tried to look but couldn't find it in the Service Manual, but I'm sure it's there.

Do you have one?

I would look on a parts fiche and see if you can see the bolt downs.

Most circuits, including the taillights, eventually ground to the frame at the number 1/2 ignition coil mounting bracket, behind the left lower edge of the fuel tank, above the left carb bank.  Most ground wires are green.  Any fastener that screws directly into the frame will make a good ground.  I use the screw that fastens the right end of the centre cover as the ground for all of my add-on electrical stuff, with one ring terminal on that screw wired to a home-made aluminum ground bus bar.
