Well first of been researching threads on this site and I am even more confused.  I know they fit but am trying to figure spring weight. So I have a 1998 standard,  I have Kawasaki hard bags. Probably ride single 70% of time. Right now i weigh 190 and wife is less than me. Bike had progressive air shocks since 2007 did seals twice and then nut to damper rod fell off and shock fell apart. The ride was great (especially since I have a bad back) but not very impressed with them. So hoping someone can help point me towards which spring rate or shock # for black? I do have a second question I am 5'7" would going to 12 1/2 help or hurt anything?

Thank you
http://www.progressivesuspension.com/pdfs/7100-105.pdf found this on a thread from 2012 seems to help

Got shocks on today, no issues they went right in. Took a 28 mile ride alone no rear seat  installed, not bad better than what I had. Old ones bottomed out with just me these did not. Right now very happy with them

Hmmm.  I'm using 444-4221c if I remember correctly.   They are 13" with HD springs.  I love 'em, but I am taller and heavier, and ride two up maybe only quarter of the time.  I personally like stiffer springs when riding in the mountains I call home, and consider the 13" heavy duty important when combined with taller Austone Taxi tires.

In thinking you can get away with a lighter duty cushier spring and will like the 12.5" height.  If you don't plan on experimenting with tall tires.

Thank you for your info on this. I am running car tire,  just need to figure spring and if drop to 12 1/2 or not. Cause reading sounds like #s represent lowest weight and upper. So if I go 120/170  me and loaded sounds good. But wife and me loaded sounds like 340, well not even loaded we are there. Guess I am wondering if that is how it is calculated

Thanks again matt

About a month ago, I put the 444 4241C on my 97' CT with Corbin Beetle bags.

I ride solo 95% of the time.  I weigh 195 lbs., and my wife weighs about 145lbs.  She said the ride is MUCH more comfortable than the 412's, and actually likes to ride with me now.  These are not the heavy duty springs, and are 12.5".  I'm using the standard Cobra MC tires.

Also, I paid $440 on RidersDiscount.com... I felt this was a pretty good deal.
