I fired my bike up the other morning, and it fired right up, and immediately started missing. Like a lot. Sometimes this has happened before, to a lesser extent, and cycling the ignition key has always fixed it. Not this time. So... I immediately suspected my Dyna 3000. I swapped in my stock ICM, and the issue persists... The left exhaust is warm... the right side cool. I was thinking a bad coil... but my research on here says that coils control 1&2, 3&4 and 5&6. So now I'm less confident in that thought.
What say you smarter than I Valk mechanics?
Thanks in advance!

I had the same thing happen on my IS. It was winter and I'd had the tank off cleaning up some wiring, etc. it ran fine after the wiring work and I left it on the lift on a trickle charger for about 6 weeks waiting for spring. When I fired it up in the spring, I had the same issue you have - running rough, left side warm, right side cold. Couldn't figure out why only one side was cold as the bike had sat perfectly upright on my lift table. Thought I'd load it up with Berrymans B12 and take it for a ride to run it through. As I'd had the tank off to clean up the wiring it was low on fuel. It ran like crap until I got to the gas station a few blocks away. After I filled up, it immediately started running better and was totally fine within 50 miles of riding. My conclusions - a combination of old fuel and low fuel ? Strange it was only on one side as the bike had sat vertical on the lift table ? Go figure...

I've ridden mine 700 miles this year. No trouble at all. Full tank of fresh fuel. 6 miles on the fill up. I have not had the tank off... nor anything else for that matter. It HAS to be ignition... doesn't it? I went out and fired it up again... and the same result. And... it seemed to get worse. It won't run at all now that it's a little bit warmed up. I'm gonna let it cool off again and see if it will fire up cold again. Jabba

So.... I put the fuel valve on "reserve" and it seems to run right... hrm. Not ignition. That's good. I wonder if it's really out of gas and I just dumbly trusted the trip meter... OK. As I write this, I remember now. I reset the miles to do a mileage test for someone. (Crossfit gym needed to know a "mile". All this because I was out of gas... sum bitch! Jabba

Isn't it great that MC are so easy to fill from either side, unlike cars? I always need to turn the car around to fill from the other pumps, since there is only the one fill.

Dang it, been doing it wrong for 8 years, no wonder I have issues every so often. The things one learns from this forum.
