Like it says. I just put wheel back on after tire change. Now the bolt that holds the caliper in place is catching on disk? This is on the speedometer side. If I use a washer with the bolt it doesn’t hit anymore but my brake pads rub? Why is the bolt to long all of a sudden? There didn’t seem to be any washers to lose track of. I have had the wheel off before. Not a issue then? Nothing bad before tire change except the tire. Any help. I don’t want to not go on planned trip for Thursday through Sunday.

 Did you compress the forks a couple of times before tightening the pinch bolts ? I know from experience that stuff will hit if this is not done.

Search for front wheel installation.

Download that and go to Page 18.
Follow that procedure exactly and it'll get your axle installed properly to fix the problem.

@Funbaldguy, agree the site is cool, but the first week I had my bike I got a Honda Maintenance manual off of EBay. I've never regretted that purchase. There is also a downloadable version, FWIW. http://www.valkyrienorway.com/download.html

I think the easiest way to correct this is to loosen the lower pinch bolts on tbe left fork. Apply the front brakes and bounce tbe front a few times. Then tighten the lower left pinch bolts.

When converting my IS into my wife's trike this winter I found that the front caliper bolts were not the same length some were a little bit shorter when in the wrong place they hit the rotor

According to the parts breakdown shows that both caliper bolts are the same on the front calipers.

i saw that and was kinda surprised cause I too thought they were different.

I'll be changing my brake pads tomorrow so it will be good to see they are the same and I can wipe out the false memory.
