Brake pedal rubbing header.

Put stock exhaust on and brake pedal is rubbing exhaust header. Taken off twice and when everything is buttoned up it still does it. Looks like brake light spring is going up against head(5?). Brake is not functioning as it should and every now and then brake locks up partway home and light stays on. What should I do to fix? Touring header bolts in different sequence and adding washers to back exhaust mount....nothing seems to work. Thanks.

You put a OEM exhaust on it - whoever put the non-OEM exhaust on it might have
bent the pedal in for whatever reason... anywho... I have a brake pedal you could
try if there's not someone right around you who has one...

Agree with Avanti and Mike, something is bent, most likely brake pedal assembly.
Every Valk exhaust I've worked on has plenty of room between the assembly cover #6,
https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/1998/gl1500c-a-valkyrie/step and the exhaust
Can you post a picture of it.
