I don't think Dunlop makes them in Valkyrie sizes.

Fortnine.ca as well as a local dealer here lists a 180/70R16 ...is there something different with the Valk? I'm just curious, as the accessory dealer here suggested it when I called to order my usual Cobras

That's the right size. I've only seen ads for sizes that fit wings. Good to know, I'd like to try them myself.

I have one on my IS had it mounted in AZ last summer when I caught a nail on a trip. Have had no problems with it but have never been a fan of dunflops.......dont last long but I cant speak to what mileage this one will bring only have about 4 k on it and it still looks good......that being said I have never gotten more than 9 k on any rear mc tire.

Agree on the limits for the rear tire on the Valk...Cobras have been easily the best so far in terms of evenness and longevity of wear for me...and handle great on the many mountain twisties I ride here, a lot of it 2 up. The rep I spoke with today said the E4's are made from 2 separate compounds....harder in the centre to eliminate the premature flat spots the E3's are known for (my experience as well when I ran them years ago) and a softer compound on the sidewalls for handling, and are supposed to get great milage out of 'em. I'll probably stick with Cobras again this time but I am curious.

I have been using E3's since they came out. Never get less than 20K miles no cupping if the pressure is kept above 40. No complaints from me on the 3's that's why I was interested in the 4's

valkyrie size is not a Multi-Tread (MT). it is just the E3 replacement. I got 24k from my E3 this was brought up 2 yrs ago. not all E4 sizes are MT https://www.dunlopmotorcycletires.com/tire-line/elite-4/

Mileage was never the issue I had with dunnies, it was wet/cold weather traction...well, traction in all situations I guess. They are hard tires that don't give you the same confidence when full lean as other tires do. That was my experience, but I could lay the magna over WAY farther than the valk, so I will have to re-adjust my expectations from a tire.

I never had a problem with wet/cold traction. only used the E3 on the rear. one must understand that any tire needs to warm up to provide correct traction in either condition. more sportier tires need even more heat. wetness, the valkyrie torque can easliy over come any tire in the wet.

Wet roads with the magna and dunnies and I could power slide at will.....always loved the look on the faces of the cagers around me when I ripped off a controlled drift on a cruiser LOL !!! The first time I tried with the shinko 777's, I nearly smashed into a car in the opposite lane...that's what grip feels like

Front tire slippage on a cold, wet, mountain road made me swear off E3s. I now run Avons on the front without that particular problem.

I have been using the E3s on my Interstate since owning it. I put a new set on every year. I always have over 18,000 and the most was the year I rode a little over 23,000. I am putting E4s on next week. Got them from J&P cycles for $460 delivered. Purchased them last Thursday and they were at my door Monday morning.

Everything that I have read says that all Elite 4s are Multi-Tread and they do have them in Valkyrie sizes. A friend of mine had them put on his 98 Valkryie yesterday. Dealer has a sale that ends today, he saved $200.00 and got a $75 VISA card. He had over 20,000 miles on his Elite 3s. I prefer Avons myself. https://www.dunlopmotorcycletires.com/tire-line/elite-4/
