Remodeled a lower level office for my wife for easier access to handicap clients. June first is the move in date. About two weeks prior , called at&t to have phone lines switched to the lower office ( we own the entire building) Phones will be shut down at 11:00 that day and an installer would be there between 1 and 3:00 to do the install. The entire phone system is there from a prior tenant. At 4:00 I start calling install. Finally told they are on strike (lie)and unknown when they will return. Turn in my phones upstairs , we can have a secretary there to answer them. Customer service is closed. (after 5)
Monday it starts over, we have been on cell phones for over 20 hours. On the 13th an installer came and did the hookup. No voice mail , no call forwarding. Barely a computer. They changed our second line to our primary. Calls to at&t go ignored. Someone from at&t said to write the company president. They do not take calls.
Here is my plea , is there anyone that has a real contact with at&t. We have called every number , person ,contact that we were given. My wife continues to loose business . We use the call log and call back the numbers listed. We are at a loss. We tried to switch back to comcast and it may be a bigger mess. We are up in the air. N O proper phone service.
To tell the entire story would take longer than what this computer could handle. Even a company store could not help.

Is there another service provider? Why stay with AT & T and their treatment? Such poor service, strike or not, needs to cost them business. It's costing your wife business.

Call your state public service commission and report the issues.
In the past I have used the TN PSC and gotten issues taken care of by ATT.

I always have new lines put in with a new phone number then forward the old number to the new number, after about 6 months have the new number disconnected and the old number ported to the new line...or disconnect the old number..in your case all you needed was a line run from the phone board to the new area, that should have been done during const. but even after const. it shouldnt be to hard to get a line down there...at&t sucks i know.. i know that doest help right now, but can you get a line run to the phone board and tied in with the existing number?

The phones are somewhat working. The secondary line is the primary. At&t changed it on their own. If we are on the phone and get another call , it rings somewhere but not ion the office phone. We can not get them to activate our voice mail and switch the lines back. It is switched in their office control.
We will follow the suggestions made. Still trying to survive.
THANK YOU

Sounds like you need to find someone to sort out the wiring in the building. From your description I have no idea how many lines, phone numbers, how big the bldg, and if you have a room for the phone or a utility room. The other question, is this a regular office system and was it working ok before.
There usually is a main office panel that all the phone lines come into depending on how many phones and what systems you have it can be easy or complex. If its similar to a house system it would be pretty easy to figure out. If an office type panel or room you need to find where the wires enter the building and usually they will have the lines going in from the poll or from underground with the phone numbers on them. Switching the first and second lines should get you phones in the area you want.
Do your have a dedicated phone modem is it wireless for wifi to the computer for internet or do you have wire coming into the house like 2 wire phone lines.
Shouldn't be to hard to do and figure out unless its a major panel and nothing is labeled.
Some stereo places have guys that can do wiring like that or alarm companies usually are able to get these kind of systems up and running if its a regular office system. There are dedicated installers for the bigger systems but can sometimes be expensive or hard to find.
ATT probably left when they found out its more than just turning service on and making sure its ok. You seem to have service its just no routed to where it needs to go. That is an inside wiring issue that they may not be equipped to handle.
If you can keep the second phone line busy it should roll over to the main line in this case the line you want to ring. You could still have call waiting so that you could still take more than one phone call. proper phone lines to ring on the proper phones untill I could get Comcast to switch the lines from their end.

Robert , it is not a wiring issue. It is at&t not allowing the voice mail to be activated from the main frame. All the wiring is good. We have an IT person . The control at at&t is the problem. They always give us another number to call. We went to a company store and got no where. The installer from at&t said that there is nothing he can do .
