Before Inzane, I recently shopped up a storm to find the best price on a pair of Danner Acadia boots for riding (8" waterproof, leather tongue, lace to toe, re-soleable).  This WorkBootsUSA website had the best deal I could find (by about $30).  After the order, I got good email feedback on my order and shipping/tracking.  The boots were a perfect fit (and American made (Acadia's), but not all Danner boots are).

I just got an email from them with a 4th July sale on boots from Danner (20% off MSRP), and others like Bates, Caterpillar, Reebock, Wolverine,  (up to 35% off).

If you are thinking about a pair of boots, this is a pretty good deal.

If you think I'm getting a percentage, think again.   Grin

A former MP/SP buddy of mine who rides says 200gr Thinuslate insulation (besides waterproof Gortex) can even be cooler on your feet than uninsulated because it prevents the worst motor and weather heat from getting to your feet (but not higher than 200gr).  I had already bought uninsulated (and had other cold weather boots already).  FWIW and YMMV.

Nice looking boots cooldude  Kinda pricey Sad

I bought some "Cop" boots.  Figured they had to be comfortable.

I was right.  Think I paid around a hundred for them.

I had two pair of cheaper swat boots, but they fell apart.  The soles dried out and flapped off, and I could not get them to stay glued back on.  I only rode with them, and I think they spent too much time sitting in my basement (and drying out). They were not re-solable.

The Acadia's are Danner's best and spendy, but I expect them to last longer than me.  And are re-solable.  And I can walk around all day in them and my feet don't hurt.

And social security paid for them.   Grin

Danner makes as good a pair of boots as you can buy, but there are also other brands on sale.

I'm a cheap bastard. $100 is usually my limit. My last pair I got at Tractor Supply. I think they are Schmidt Work boots. I like them just fine. The older we get the more important comfort becomes.

OK you're screwed. Most days they're unusable from about 2:00pm to near 4:00pm.  2funny

One of the benefits I have at work is a new pair of boots every year, up to $160. They just need to be steel or composite toe....

They work pretty well on the bike (so I'm told)
