Honda Coolant says in the bottle that is good for 5 years or 50K miles, whatever comes first.

It seems that for heavy duty use is recommended to flush the coolant each 2 years (which doesn't seem to be the case).

There are some coolant test strips that allow you to know what is the pH and salinity of the coolant. Maybe test it before simply flushing would be a good idea?

If you are still interested in non standard coolants and do not want to worry able corrosion or changing in the future than research Evans Coolant, Powersports Waterless Engine Coolant.
I have been using Evans Coolant for 15 + years in several different applications. One of my diesel applications has never been changed again after switching to Evans Coolant at 7,000 miles; over 15 years with all the original factory coolant system parts, running at zero pressure.
I use the Powersports Coolant version in my Interstate.

5 years or 50K seems good to me, with most flushing done at 5-6 years since most of us do not put 10K miles on per year.

I just use the 50/50 prestone mix you get at walmart for 11 bucks for 4qts, is fine.

Well, guess I'm the odd one out here. Bought mine new in 99. It has 174,000 miles on it now. I just got back from a 9400 mile trip to Alaska. Still has the original coolant in it. I checked it this year-shows good to -38º and is super clean. I just left it in. Feel free to fuss at me, but only if your Valk has more miles.

anti-freeze never losses its ability to not freeze. but the additives that prevent corrosion of an aluminum block and radiator and prevent cavitation of the water pump get depleted. u might be on borrow time before a nice chuck of corrosion breaks off and clogs a critical coolant passage and there goes your engine.

That can be said for a new engine. It's a mechanical device-it's ALWAYS on borrowed time. I was still in my 40s when I bought this bike. No male in my family had ever lived past 56. I'm 63.

Yes on the Artic Circle. No on the pics. I almost never take pictures on a trip. Some of the others did. I'll look through my dozen or so shots to see what I've got that's worth sharing.
I said no issues, but a fork seal leaked. They said I caught air on the Valk three times. In all fairness, the seal was leaking before I left and I cleaned it.
Other bikes were a 2017 Africa Twin, 2005 V-Strom 1000, a 650 V-Strom, an ST1300 (2003), and my 98 Valk. ST turned 100K this trip, others were less.
