Never very happy with the stock seat.   Did a few modifications myself, including using an electric steak knife to level out the back portion of the seat that goes skyward, and removing two inches of plastic from the pillon mold (wanted to sit further back in seat - pillon was in the way).   Getting by currently by throwing a Airhawk cushion over my hack job past two years.   Planning a long fall trip.   Getting the seat right is priority.   Read about Corbin and Russell Daylong.  Not sure either is for me.   Got a quote of $475 for Seat/Pillon/Honda Accessory Backrest re-do.   Includes rebuilding existing molds with new marine grade vinyl covers, new "Gel" foam, and raising both main and pillon seat over an inch.

Any of you guys gone the way of a custom build?  If so, is 475 in the ballpark for what i should expect to pay?   Live in Tampa.  Guy states he's been in business since early 2000.   His shop looked legit.  Anybody with a custom build let me know how happy u r - ballpark price paid - Thanks - John

I think it cost about $600 to do my OEM rider seat pan at Russell... I had a
Corbin before that, and rode with the OEM seat a good while.

Russell seat plus Utopia backrest  cooldude

I spoke with Des from Ultimate Seat last year.  He said they have no plans to make a seat for the 2014-2015 Valkyries and the 6B seat will not fit.  I'm sure that is you throw enough money at them, any seat maker will create one for you.

F6gal has one of two Ultimate seats ever made for the new Valk.  She didn't like it and got a Russell seat.

I have to agree with Mike.  I paid $800 for both seats to be done by Russell and I have never regretted it one bit.  I love it.

I haven't had a seat custom built by anyone, but I've had a couple stock seats modified over the years. One was done by ASTECH, and they do more extensive builds. I don't know the pricing on what you'd need, but give them a call and discuss what you have and what you're looking for. http://www.astechseat.com/

Thanks for the input fellas.   RDL probably is the safest bet, but they are backlog'ed several months, and not local.  Seeing the prices you guys responded with, he's not overpriced.    Gonna give him a try.   I'll post some end result photos.

When my Corbin seat needed to be recovered and redone he did it for me. Did a good job and was about 450.00 he does mostly custom work and I was very happy with the seat. He actually fitted the seat to me and knew what I wanted in describing it to him.

My Corbin seat was very high quality, and they made every effort
to help me like it.

Wish I could have said the same thing. My seat where the inside of the legs hit it had worn through in a year. I called them and they wanted to sell me a new seat, or put a whole new seat cover on effectively costing the same amount. I said no way and took it to Jeffery and he did a wonderful job and I could have done it any way I wanted. He even had a fitting for the seat and had me sit on it.  Cool

I have a Corbin seat on my 14 Valk but if that ever needs to be redone I will do the same thing. But I think the 14 seat will be ok since I did a nose job on it and my legs dont seem to rub it that hard.

I had my single Valkyrie seat (not including the passenger seat) done for $270 with customer stitching ($10 extra) at Terry’s Custom Seats out of Tennessee.  Shipping was $30. He did an incredible job and it was the most comfortable seat I ever had on a motorcycle. Part of his process is that he ask for your weight and some pictures of you sitting on your bike so he can make sure your seat is custom fitted to your rear.  You definitely can’t beat the price and workmanship!

My Corbin seat was a little too firm, so I sent it back for adjustment. It's fine now and looks great. I believe it was a little over $400 total.
