I was working on a saddle last night and I read the neatsfoot oil jug. It says that it will water proof leather. Anyone ever try this on a mc jacket and chaps?

Saddle leather is thick dense and hard, the clothing is split so many times its pretty thin.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

Used it a lot on baseball gloves. Did a fine job. Should work just fine on jacket & chaps.
Try it, can't hurt.

It will work just be careful on the amount you use. Too much and it will be a dust magnet for a LOOOOOOONG time because it won't all soak in. Little at a time and then wait a day or two and apply again. Repeat as long as it soaks in. Too much is way worse than too little!
GOOD LUCK!

Also ment to say that too much will soak through the leather and end up on your shirt if used on a jacket and your pants if used on chaps.

I use Lexol on jacket and chaps.  Works well to water proof, and does not seem to attract dust.
