Checking to see if anyone else has had intermittent low beam failure. Has done it twice I know of and the last time it was 11:30 p.m. Fortunately the high circuit worked and I have my Cree spotlamps wired into the low circuit only.

I have a smart switch with no problems. BUT: Wire your other lamps on a separate circuit so you don't lose all your lights with one circuit problem.

Followed up with email to me to let me know what he found. Awesome guy. At I-16 I bought from BonS a handle bar mounted thermometer and I broke the thing-me myself I. When I went to his-BonS-table and well attempted-to purchase a new one he wanted to GIVE me one. W T F over? I would NOT hear of it. WHY should he be responsible for my own ineptness? I truly wish I could tell you it were easy buying the replacement. I truly WISH I could. In all my years that wuz the hardest I'd ever worked to give a vendor money.  Lets just say BonS is One of the Most stand up guys I've EVER met.  My I/S has the BonS L E D tail/brake light conversion. I've stated this before and It bares repeating again-on P G R missions when I'm on Phatt Ghurl anyone who has been behind me comments later that you Really KNOW when old2soon uses his brakes!  RIDE SAFE. |

If you have a problem with anything I have sold I'll always stand behind it. As I say, "I always give a lifetime warranty, MY lifetime!".
I have had a few Smart Switches go bad. Some have been my fault and some have been just bad relays. If you have one that fails to work correctly just let me know and I'll get a replacement out to you ASAP, no charge.

I didn't lose all my lights if you would have read the post. The Cree's are wired onto the stock light plug. Not much else to do but disconnect the SS and re plug in the stock setup but at 11:30 @ night and a long hot night at work, all was good until I got back to the "Valk Cave". I thoroughly tested with 2 different bulbs and the stock setup. Thanks Bons for responding so fast. Love the product! |

+1 I use a master cylinder switch block from Add-On/Big Bike Parts for controlling my auxiliary lights. One of the switches is replaced with a SPDT, center-off unit of the same type (Digikey carries them). The center (common) goes to the coil of the relay which switches power to the spots; this from a fused line which is connected directly to the battery. One of the switch positions is connected to the Low Beam headlight lead. The other is connected to a constant key-on +12v. The reason...certain states (Ohio being one) prohibit the use of passing lamps with High Beams...while others allow it. This way I have both bases covered. |

I added a switch which resources the trigger to the relays from the outputs of the hi-lo sw - to the running light circuit. So if the former goes out - I'm still good to go. Now if the power to the relays, or the relays fail - well I have 2 fwd light makers, the headlight and the spots (which are actually H4 headlights) with different relay power sources. Never needed the backup yet since installing it, but I did once have to travel on just the spots on the road to the first Inzane when the headlight plug failed. |

Why? In Indiana legally speaking the spots have to be wired/used in the low beam circuit only and using the Smart Switch allows the 2x10w LED's (1.66 amp draw) to used w/o excessive load on wiring coming from the switch. Works for me but... |
