Has anyone had this happen ?? I hit a pretty bad pot hole today and that thing just snapped !!

I cant tell if it's just the bolt or not. Can't break it down for a couple of days.

I've been riding since I was 8 years old and have never seen this from a pot hole.

I have not encountered one that broke. Bolt or riser.
Was it loose?

No, wasn't loose. Just a real hard hit as I was turning. You can see from the scratches, it just moves freely. Luckily I was close to home.

There have been several reported broken (through an individual top clamp on one side, near the bolt) that look like these.

And it is entirely possible that the top clamp threads in the riser body itself are damaged in the process.

After reading about something like that happening to Daniel
Meyer, I made sure I got the highest-end goodest risers I
could find...

Aeromach from Big Mike on the 1500...

Baron risers on the 1800...

Glad you're OK...

Yikes, can't imagine that happening.  Guessing the pucker factor came into play.  Was it instantaneous like pothole, wham, slip?

Yep, just snapped. Had to do more of a lean type steering. I was lucky I was close to home.

Incredible! The photo is about actual size, so it's an inch of sway!
