I always have my key with me and why in the heck did they make the key so big  Sad So I decided to do something about it and besides I wanted the OEM key to look good if I ever decided to sell the bike or just have it down the road. So I found another key blank that fit and had it cut to the original key. It had a plastic cover on it when I bought it so I ground that off, ground down the top and sides and put a hole in it then polished it a bit and that is what I use. Makes keeping it in my pocket so much easier, and doesn't poke a hole through the bottom of my pocket like the OEM key was doing.

Even with ABS I dont think you have a chip in the key, its not an electronic lock.

Wondering where you bought/found the blank?

Found the key at ACE hardware, it had an ugly plastic cover on it but I dont remember the key #. If you need it I might be able to find it though.

Thanks. The key number would be helpful as sometimes bike/car blanks are hard to match up.

Robert, went to ACE Hardware and they could-not match me up.
If you could find that key number in would be much appreciated.

As promised and not the key I used but it should work, I tried it in my ignition and looks the same as the OEM.

From a search using "KEY"   Looks like HD110/  HD110P, HD96P

Mate ....turns out out the HD 103 is not long enough to lock the steering...went to a AAA afilliated key specialist and they had HD110 keys( they had to order) for $6 a piece ....they work perfect....correct length and the exact shoulder height on the key to depress the ignition and lock the steering....

I just logged onto the forum after being away for awhile and noticed this thread and the fact that I had a PM from a member asking which key blank the locksmith used to cut my spare.
It is an iLCO HD110-P
Fits and works perfect in all the key slots on my Valkyrie.

OK, just back from Ace, they had the HD96P blank, works perfectly! For some reason I didn't think Ace would have motorcycle keys. Thanks
