As a kid my parents got readers digest and there was a section with 10-20 words each month that you needed to figure out what the heck they meant

My folks made me do the thing every month   I prefered Laughter is the best medicine and humor in uniform myself but I did them.

I have noticed some folks use some big words most recently in the Ducati thread

So I google this word that I saw since I wasnt positive what it was

The word is  Avoirdupois

From the context I thought it may be about long rides

I learned it is a system of weights but can also refer to a lot of weight

So I guess Puff's Daddy without ever meeting me knows I have some extra weight

Damn how did you do that PD?  Maybe he has seen my pic. Here is another from an unsuccessful raid (well it was a success in that I did get close to these 2 cuties) on Hammond 's staff

So since the riding season is winding down for many, lets find some more words that deal with Valkyrie that someone besides Willow (he of the Thesaurus) and PD would know.

Hey Puff if you want to be really helpful can you post a secretary candidate with each new word?  Thanks and I better start that exercise program real soon.

Oss, for trivia, it is what we generally call the "American System" which was originally English. Ounces, pounds, etc. It is actually 3 words as in Avoir du Poir. More than you wanted to know ;-)

How about the difference between a 'wobble' and a 'weave'? coolsmiley

In American English, avoirdupois is used correctly as one word.  It derives from the French phrase "avoir de pois," the literal translation of which is "goods of weight."

Bisixual means you own two Valkyries, trisixual means three, multisixual means more than three!  2funny Hoser

When you are shopping on your tourer or interstate and don't care if you get paper or plastic bags, then you are bisacksual because you go both ways.  Cheesy

It's basically the open area where all of the people from the stands exit into.

Where I come from-the word "flow" can have at least two meanings, you can slip and fall on it or you can swim against it in a river. Grin

Yep, the openings in a stadium where you enter or exit.  As if you are being vomited into or out of a stadium.  Weird word indeed.

Vomitory...I've worked on a few stadium and arena projects and yeah, that word has always cracked me up.  i get this mental picture of a cartoon stadium puking humans out of the openings.  uglystupid2

So if one owned a mixture including both the Interstate and a Standard or Tourer, would that make him (or her) a heterosixual?

And, of course, by implication one whose Valkyrie and/or Valkyries were of a single model would be a homosixual.   Wink

Actually I think that would make him (or her) "well endowed".

Grin

Having once been highly sixual and deviated, you would already be a sixual deviant.  Perhaps with the help of the proper therapist we can restore your lost sixuality.

I'm sure Charlynne would be quite pleased to have you return to an acceptable level of sixual activity.  We have found that our sixuality is most enjoyable and uniquely rewarding when expressed within the context of a loving, supportive marriage relationship.

so if I follow this reasoning Willow you deem that he is becoming Monosixual

Well I suppose being in love with ones Valkyrie could be said to be both contagious and long lasting
