Hey YB.
The Mainely Meat that I hear so much about, is that the one next to Acadia Pines Motel?  I plan to book a room there for Sunday Night.

If so I'll buy ya Dinner if you are around.  Should roll in around 6pm

His main branch of Mainley Meats BBQ is in Town Hill Dan, connected to Atlantic Brewing.
The one you are talking about is owned by the same person, just not sure
who does the cooking / smoking there.

I'll have to wait and see how bad the medications are kicking my ass, before committing to joining you for dinner.
Enjoy your travels and stay on the safe road Dan.

Well,, it turns out the Acadia Pines Motel was booked anyway so we ended up getting rooms in Bangor.  I still plan to come across RT3 from Agusta and stop in Bucksport to check out the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. I like views from high places and thought that Tower View would be nice.
Then on to Bar Harbor hoping that Sunday afternoon/evening it may be quiet for a bite to eat before heading to Bangor for the night.

Until now I never knew there was more than one.
A friend  of mine was just up there 2 weeks ago and said he stayed at the Acadia Pines and had Breakfast at Mainely Meat, and I have heard so much about the place I thought that was the one.

The last time I was in Bar Harbor I hauled in docks for a Hotel on the water. I parked in the Ferry parking lot that was next to the Hotel and waited for the tide to go out. Then drove into town and backed out with a crane on a sand bar/road and we unloaded and they waited for the tide to come in and towed the docks over by boat.  Hauled two loads in on my 48' Flatbed. That had to be late 1980s because I still have the pictures and had my 82 Peterbuilt.

He must have eaten at the Mainely Meats next door to Acadia Pines.....
Very cool story about working in B.H. 30 plus years ago.
An advantage to staying in Bangor...Dunkin Donuts are plantiful...
And Rt 9 (airline) is close by.
