Hi - I just mounted up my polished forks and I realized that I forgot to check  how the throttle cables and clutch side - choke, and other wires are routed. It looks obvious that the throttle cable go to the inside of the fork, but just like other input for the rest of it. What is the stock OEM Honda routing? If you can do photos that would be great. -- The bike has been disassmbled so long I dont remember.

Mine is a Tourer, but should be the same. There is a wire guide on the rear side of the top brace that guides the clutch and choke lines

And a wire guide on the front to guide the throttle lines

Note also the wire guide for the brake line

The guides are #3 and #2, respectively, on this drawing https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/1998/gl1500ct-a-valkyrie-tourer/handlebar-top-bridge

Yeah, agree with that, I just wanted a "clean up" polish on the top triple, but the polish guy went over board. Its definately purty, but I probly gonna have to figure a way to block the sun out in spots.

Having used several of the polishing guys, I find them all a fickle bunch. Maybe its the compounds they use...  coolsmiley

I'd thought about doing something like that with my various Valkyries over the years but given that I usually have clamps on the forks of my non-I/S models for Memphis shields and FL-style wind deflectors I'd just end up scratching the pretty finish.  Undecided

On my current I/S, I went exactly backwards: A set of VTX1800F/N fork tube covers was sourced and will be powdercoated to match the rest of the bike, as will a set of custom upper covers I'm building.

The only thing I'm missing is a set of the Hondaline accessory lower fork covers. There's a really nice set on the bike at present but I'd prefer to powdercoat some which are scuffed and scratched.

I would have my Valk all polished up like that, but being such a good-looking guy, I already attract too much attention, which is a real problem considering that I'm also very humble.

Eastwood.com sells (or sold) clear coat for bare metal, and it came in gloss or satin. Satin may be enough to cut the glare, and protect the new finish, too.

Hey, it's still listed on their site: https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-diamond-clear-dtm-and-painted-surfaces-aerosol.html
I used the clear gloss on polished parts of my CB450 several years ago, and it's still good.
