Congrats on your new aquisition. I picked up a ‘99 grean and silver Interstate back in February. I was instantly in love as you will be. I agree. I have found that there is less available for the Interstates. That’s ok for me. I have less to polish and I don’t even like washing my bike. I ride her.

Most chrome that fits a standard or tourer will fit an interstate. Side covers, fork ends, fender extensions, hanger covers and so on. The bag and trunk guards can be had on eBay. Big bike parts still has some after market chrome stuff, keep your eye on the classifieds here or ask for the part you need.

J&P Cycles have a few things.  Trans covers, fender chrome, carb covers, etc.

The front forks Will with some elbow grease polish up nice. Post a W T B on our classifieds for what you need. BUT if what yer wantin turns out to be unobtanium be prepared to dig VERY Deeply into yer coinage storage place! Won some saddle bag luggage racks here a year or two ago. Had to drill 4 holes in each saddle bag top but it were worth it. Good luck with yer quest and-Welcome to the insanity that are us!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

I was going to chrome out my all black I/S some 8+  years ago, but decided the chrome pricing of all I wanted was not worth the expense so kept it pretty much stock void of most aftermarket chrome.

If it trips your trigger though and desire chrome MUST haves, go for it.

most chrome pieces are just chromed plastic though, but not all like the transmission covers are nice but 150 bucks or thereabouts??   Roll Eyes

Anyone know where to get a chrome oil filter cover?

These are made to fit old Hog shocks on top.

They fit the Valk OE filter perfectly, and if you use the better bit-longer filters, they may leave a quarter inch of the filter exposed in back. Very nice chrome.  You get two.

You turn them so the snugging screw and open part is facing down, and it's invisible unless laying underneath.

If a rock can pierce an oil filter in front (it can), it can sure pierce the thin aluminum of a beer can too.

 cooldude  Welcome.

(putting a little anti-seize on the snug threads is a good idea, they get a lot of crud on them down low)
