Got a new to me '99 Valk w 45K that had been sitting in a barn for many years.  Wouldn't start, so pulled the carbs and cleaned. Fired right up afterwards, but didn't clean the tank good enough and it gummed up again.  Pulled it all back apart, cleaned the heck out of the tank, and installed a re-build kit that didn't come with the fuel rail o-rings.  Dumb mistake but I went ahead and installed- fired right up and ran good but it immediately began leaking near #3 carb.  Figured this was because of the rail o-rings I didn't install.

Try # 3 and just now split the carbs and put in new rail o-rings.  Everything was peachy, running great until I got a few miles down the road and it began pouring gas all over my leg.  #3 carb again.   No fuel is coming through the overflow and the bike runs great but it's a constant drip, drip, drip coming from the somewhere around the #3 carb.  Any suggestions before I do this again?

On another note, the bike fell off the stand after rebuild #2 when I was away and sat on it's side all day.  Had quite a bit of oil in the left exhaust that I burned off but noticed that the clutch now slips when accelerating hard.  Lever still has good pressure and cycles through the gears just fine.  Any ideas on that too would be greatly appreciated.

Think I'm gonna love this bike after I get through this mess.  Thanks!

So I understand correctly is it leaking while it is off?
is the fuel petcock in the off position?
it may be possible that the vacuum membrane in the petcock may be bad allowing fuel to back feed thru the vacuum line.  be very careful with this if it is what I'm thinking you can hydrolock the motor and do some damage.  Make sure what you are dealing with before you try to start it again!

The clutches on these beasts is pretty strong, as long as you have enough of the correct type of oil,  I would look to the drivetrain for the slipping.

I believe your last statement is correct.

As for the clutch, have you checked for gas in the oil?

Also, since the bike went over, drain the “dragon drool” tube...might be full.

No fuel leak with petcock off.  Went and started it up today and no leaks!  Can't believe this would have sealed up with the way it was leaking.  Didn't have a chance to ride but will keep and eye on it.

Thanks for all the responses.  Oil change is next to see what the clutch does.  Didn't smell like gas in the oil but my smell is not too good but it did seem thin to me.

I think indybobm is right. Definitely change oil and filter before you ride again. I've had fuel rail o-rings seal back up after they've had fuel on them for a while. Probably what happened with yours.
