New to the board with a 1999 I/S. Just ordered a digisync after having the carbs rebuilt and o rings replaced. Hoping it will clear up my low speed and idle issues ( erratic rpm mostly) and that  I can hopefully do this on my own. Great advice on this forum and I agree with my fellow owners if there is a better motorcycle out there I haven't ridden it !

And as a suggestion either replace the vacuum hoses or desmog. I M H O-DESMOG. The digisync is pretty straight forward. And B T W-welcome from the Missouri Ozarks. Git er synced take er fer a ride and be prepared fer the GRIN that All of us Valkyrie owners have!  cooldude And BBQ and icy cold adult beverages go a long way with help in person!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

Hello and welcome aboard.

New to you bike? I would also start with at least 1/2 of a can of Berrymans B-12 carb cleaner, to a tank of fresh fuel. Run the bike through different rpm ranges. I had fluctuating rpm at idle, on my 1st IS, this helped it steady out.

Had a 73 C B 500/4. First winter-still living in Illinois almost to Wisconsin at the time-pulled the tins and got rid of the brindle crap brown and black. Found a knock off similar to a Kirker 4 into 1. Pulled the noise abatement "stuff"  out of the can and she would SCREAM.  cooldude Near as I can tell ex wife 1 ended up with Any and All photos I had of the custom paint and gold leaf and silver leaf work done to it.  Undecided Like to have the 500 back along with the 920 Virago I had. RIDE SAFE.

All carbs synced and idle is spot on ! Went for a 30 mile ride and yes I could not be happier. This is what I've been waiting for. I like riding more than fixing  cooldude The Digisync made it idiot proof I'm really glad I made the purchase. It is a quality tool and well thought out and the extra vacuum clips came in handy as the old ones pretty much crumbled as I tried to remove them.

Thanks Leathel   I'm not handy with tools so my local mechanic did the carb rebuild and fixed my leaking o rings but it wasn't quite right after a day or two of riding. So I took the plunge and decided to try this with the help of a friend. I really feel I'm getting the full potential of the Valk now. Ran her up to 95mph and plenty of throttle left. That was good enough for me !

Yup they go pretty good whensorted, 120mph in 4th and still pulling strong is as far as I got mine.... not many spots around me where the roads are good enough to go further Tongue

Mine will hit the limiter in 3rd around the 100mph range on a drag strip..... but not been back to a drag strip since I got rid of the small UK jets and fixed the float level issue Cheesy

That's awesome ! At my age  I'm pretty content to set it at 75mph and call it good on the highway. What was your float level issue ? if you don't mind me asking.

Update: Rode today and got the fuel gauge down to two bars then filled up. Same route basically same speeds and mileage has gone to 36.8 mpg which is up from 25-27mpg. But of course once you get fuel to quit dumping out of the bottom of two carbs ……. Wink and sync her up one would expect these kind of results.
