I bought the smart switch but did not undo the relays that i had in place. does that make a difference? Should I remove the relays an if i did would my wiring still be protected.  Next question is...has anyone tried the H4 LED bulb as a replacement and how did that work out?

Don't need a relay for a Smartswitch. It wires directly to your battery.

I thought the SmartSwitch came with its own relay ?

Yes Mr. Head; the smart switch has it's own relay inline. If an LED bulb is used, then the smart switch isn't needed. The low current draw of the LED reduces the current on the start button.

No. The SmartSwitch only controls the headlight. Leave your running light relay and horn relay. The purpose of the SmartSwitch is to provide more amperage to your headlight while reducing the amperage that has to go thru your starter button.

May I ask, what LED Bulb did you use in your headlight?
