Hi All Well it was our  Friday the 13th in Pt Dover  Ontario. Been a tradition for many years to take the day off and ride the bikes to a little fishing village on the north shore of Lake Erie. http://www.pd13.com/
Lately seems like alot of yuppies are showing up as well pushing baby buggies but thats another gripe of mine.Left the home before 7 to get a good parking spot. It's about an hour twenty away and it was 33 degrees out when I left. Abit fresh. Some pics of a great day in Canada.

He has been riding like this as long as I can remember. Must have cast iron balls

The Ho Ho Man

Never seen fork covers like this Looked great

My youngest Jacob

And finally, the best looking bike of the event. Of course mine

Damn Yuppies, why can't they leave PD13 to real bikers!
I sure wish I could have been there.
Why is it that every time I've done PD13 it was cold?

Well, some of us baby buggy pushers may have decided that this time it was more important to have our families with us than to ride.  Not that I've been to Port Dover, but I've driven my Saturn or GMC to more than a couple of Alberta motorcycle events, and trust me, it takes a lot more determination, patience, hard work, and commitment to take a couple of small children camping with you at a motorcycle event (e.g. Ride for Sight) than it does to strap your tent onto your bike and ride to it alone.  This is also true for any one day event.  If I'm there on my bike, there are just my needs to look after.  If I have my family, there are four stomachs, bladders, attention spans, pairs of sore feet, etc. to contend with.  I can only see and do a quarter of what I want, but at that moment I'm sharing my motorcycle passion with my family.  I'm sorry my stroller alters the ambiance of your experience.

Hey Kevin. I agree with you about how hard it is to have young family at these events. My two sons are now 20 and 25. I did involve them early at some bike events.Have taken them to Daytona and Dover and many local events. First eye opener for me was at a swap meet in town where every second word they heard was "F**K".Couldn't get out of there fast enough. I really didn't want to explain why at Dover there was a sign "Show us your Tits" and a group of guys cheering when a woman flashed the twins.Just my call that not always all events were for my guys.Enjoy your time with them.I did with mine

I went to PD13 this year. Started out at 6:30am at 28F from
a little town well north of toronto. 3 1/2  hours there,
3 1/2 hours back. I wouldn't miss it, the church of motorcycle.
It is always worth making the pilgrimage. I stood beside
some of the bikes that Adrian photographed. Saw that crazy santa too.
There were at least 50K bikes there this year. In the summer
there can be near twice that number.
Most of the riders were from ontario, a lot from new york,
a few from michigan. You can actually see skyscrapers
across the lake, cleveland?
I noticed this year that more people were there without bikes,
pushing strollers. I admire people WITH bikes that bring family,
that takes more good stuff, people WITHOUT bikes just make it
more crowded. But who could blame these people,
PD13 is such a great adventure.

Mine is very close to that one, same colour scheme, light bar.
It wasn't me.
Not likely a lady would travel with me through 28F, that fella
and his missus must live quite close to port dover. I sat with two
guys at a tim's who just came down from cambridge, just a half
hour away, and they were frozen. I could hardly feel my hands or feet
after almost 4 hours on the 401.
Warmed up nicely once inside PD. Might see you all in Aug next year.
