Ok so one Saturday was going to take a ride got the bike out all was going well till I smelled what best can be described as someone is putting manure on their lawn. So I looked around and walked away from the bike and wondered, since I could not find the source. The smell didn't entirely go away over the next couple of weeks and off and on I would get a whiff of it. But I went for a few rides and all was ok. Well one day I couldn't take it any longer and started to try to find the source of the smell. Well lo and behold in the bottom of my saddle bag under some paper and rags was a turd. So cleaned up the area since it was not bad threw out the rag and anything that touched it and let the bag air out but the smell again never went entirely away.

Yup, I have a Yorkie a good dog and he regularly rides with me in the saddle bag. So one day had to bring him home from work and put him in the bag and when we got home he immediately did his business. It was a bit unusual but I didn't think to much of it till the day I found that present. How could you have done that to me.

Today was the day to address the smell, since it was not going away. Took out all the things that were in the bag and put some Hydrogen peroxide 20 percent in the bag and let it sit a bit. Then scrubbed the inside a bit and put some car wash soap and filled the bag to the top with water. Scrubbed it a bit more and then rinsed. Took a wet vac sucked out all the water and leaf blower to blow the rest out and dry it a bit and all the smell is gone.

What I learned, the Corbin bags hold water. Take your dog for a walk before you put him in the bag and always check if you smell something.

Bag actually cleaned perfectly, dried quickly and looks better, I guess it needed it for more than one reason.

This is the offender with my old bike in the background while we were out at lunch grabbing a hamburger.

How could you be mad at this face?

He loves to go places and travel and doesn't understand being left home. When I have to get a pallet cart at Home Depot he will get in the front of it and look like the Mac emblem on the front of a Mack truck and never move off the pallet cart. A great dog and at 15 years he is starting to show his age.

Gotta love those little curtain pissers!!! cooldude  This reminds me of the golden rule of never opening up a 5-gallon bucket on a construction site.

Was my daughters dog and we told her not to buy him. When we first got him he was so small I was embarrassed to walk him. A bit later what he did not have in size he made up for in personality. Of course now I'm hooked.  Grin

No the lid is held open by a bungee cord which you can see in the middle pic. The lid protects him from to much wind or anything flying. Sometimes on the old bag on a long trip I would remove the cover though.

That's great! He is about the perfect size for a Pet Palace from Drag Specialties or Kurykan.

I've never known a Yorkie that was house broke. Must be the breed.

For the first couple of years of his new life he was not good and went in the house many times. I almost said enough is enough, but then I got him into a routine and he has been great ever since. In 16 years only one #2 in the house and one #1. One time he had diarrhea and scratched on the back door to wake us up. He barely got out of the house and went.

I have lately installed a motion sensor at the back door since we changed the door and while sleeping he is old enough not to have the strength to scratch hard enough to wake us up. But he knows to stand there the motion sensor picks him up and rings in our bedroom. A really good dog, he is even true to his heritage and has found a couple of rats that were around the house. He pointed and I killed them.

In another time he pulled the ligament in his back leg and was going to get surgery as he was limping around. We were so careful of him till one night he was scratching to go out and we opened the door and he shot out the door sprinted across the yard so fast I could not keep my eyes on him jumped into the air and landed on the back of a possum. We yelled, he stopped and got off and the possum left.

He seems to know what you want from him since I told him if he gets out of the bags he will not go on any more rides. He did once and that was it, he never did it again. Even with other dogs or being the first vehicle at RR crossings he stays put.
