With the unfortunate but necessary cancellation of the hill country ride, we'll be looking at rescheduling that for the spring sometime.  In the meantime, let's do a meet in the middle ride in a week and a half.
Sunday, October 28.  Let's meet for lunch in Centerville at Woody's.  Precise time is TBD.  (Yes, I know that Centerville isn't in the middle of Texas, but ya'll in the Austin/SA area have the hill country ride in your backyards, so...)
We'll work up a Houston group to ride up together, and I expect a DFW group and a CenTex group as well.

More details to come.  Chime in if you're available/interested.

Contemplating the possibilities...

Google Maps says there's a Woody's on both sides of I-45 in Centerville, which one would we meet at?

I'm planning to go and I've sent ticklers out to several folks.  Only one response, so far, and it was to decline due to a prior commitment.

I'm thinking an I-45 blast down and a meandering return in time to attend the Denton Moto Collective Movie Night at 6p at Andy's Bar on the square.  This month's feature is Greasy Hands Preachers.

Thanks for the weather report.  Today was a little discouraging.

As on right now at least, Wunderground is saying for Centerville, Sunday will be "Mostly Sunny", high of 75, 0" of rain.

So yeah, I'm planning on going... Will probably have Kali with me too...

Passenger...

Helix is fun around town, wouldn't wanna take it cross country with a top speed of maybe 70, downhill, with a tail wind (And haven't gotten it back from the Honda shop who's tuning it up yet anyway) and she hasn't ridden the Blue and Ivory more than a few laps around a parking lot so far...
(And she still doesn't have her license, late November was the soonest we could get her in for that....  tickedoff )

I will be going up 146 to 321 then 105 to the same route as Eli. Mark if you would like to meet at my house than maybe we could meet Eli at 105 and 321 intersection.

Good plan for the Houston riders.  There's a Valero at 105 and 321.  Meet there at 10?  Google Maps says 1:40 from there to Woody's, so that'll give us a few minutes slack.
Gitter, I don't remember where you live.  If you remind me, I have a better chance of being there Sunday morning.

Franco6:  You're welcome to meet us at 321 and 105 or suggest a supplemental meetup location.
Turtle:  What route do you intend to take?  We could pick you up along the way, possibly in Huntsville?

Hey Mark, is this a dash down 45 route? I was planning to leave a bit earlier to get in a few miles before Woody’s, 75mph is a bit fast and too much traffic for me. Post what you have planned.

Everything east and parallel to 45 but not on it. GoogleMaps, avoid highways and tolls from Cleveland to Midway, to Centerville, gives you an idea of a decent route of about 2hrs.

That sounds fine to me. Does the meet-up location sound good? Pick a time when we should be there. We'll make it happen.

It may not end up being directly in Huntsville, let me look at the map and pick a good spot to meet. After Eli gets back to me, I'll tell you a good time.

Mark, if you, Fred and Kevin + anyone else would like to meet at 321/105 that is still doable, maybe a few minutes earlier. We can ride thru Huntsville and meet the Turtle, continue on to Midway via 247. What do you think? From New Waverley, 75 into Huntsville.

I may have to bail.  Medical issues at the house are making it look like leaving for 8 or 10 hours would be inadvisable.

I will make this my ride, 321/105 9:30, Huntsville approximately 10:30 on business 75 toward 247. After meet up 247 to Midway, 21 to FM 2967, to FM132, to 7 west, FM542 to FM831 to 75 south to Centerville.
Route can be altered or shortened if needed. Hope we can all meet up, enjoy the ride and the bbq.

PS. Michael, Turtle, since I am not that familiar with Huntsville, maybe both of you can chime in and tell me where you will or can be. Thanks

How about we meet at the new H.E.B. at Hwy. 75 & 11th Street at 10:30?

Quick and easy jump back over to Hwy. 247 towards Midway.
